I wasn't looking when this song came on and I would have guessed it was another track from the Wild Arms series based on the heavily western inspired intro.

i might get criticized but this is my favorite Zelda game, the dark story(it has its flaws) the characters, the visuals, i love it all. although i have to say i prefer the Gamecube version over the Wii one.
That's kinda how I feel about Wind Waker. The overworld and atmosphere is great, and there's a lot to do, but the dungeons aren't great, and there not enough of them. I thought Skyward Sword's dungeons were pretty good (and better than Wind Waker's for sure).

This game ahead of A Link to the Past? Really? The couple of flaws you mentioned, especially the overlong tutorial (my least favorite opening in a game, ever) absolutely ruined this game for me. The dungeons seemed fine, but those flaws were absolutely killer.
One the best Zelda songs haha. This is the song, that made me really get into TP. Seeing the old run down Sheik village with this song was nice.
Yah, it can be an awfully laggy few hours transitioning back to the non-motion+ game. But it's not impossible.
They are good dungeons, but I wouldn't say they were long with the except of City in the Sky & Yeto's Mansion. But overall I think Twilight Princess was one of the greatest Zelda games ever made and obviously propelled the Wii into being one of the most effective game systems ever.

same here, twilight princess however never let me put the wiimote down. i was so excited for ss aswell, just gutted that i couldnt get into it.
Oh wow, this is very clearly an homage to the music of Ennio Morricone! Especially the beginning, which is unmistakably based on the theme from A Few Dollars More. I always love it when Nintendo's inner movie geek shines through!
Totally agree! it was lengthy and fun. A shame there wasn't a lot to do outside the main quest (which killed the sense of exploration) Hoping they're reversing the trend (SS had even less side quests!)
a very underrated title. i think most zelda fans will agree it was a great game, just had an unfair judgement of being a ''clone'' of OOT. i personally enjoyed this more than SS aswell tbh
For this part only, I used the bow and arrow and nothing else. It was the closet thing to a gun that I had. What would have better than to have a shoot out in an old western village?

What a surprise, a bad one too (for me at least). Didn't expect to see this game make it this high in your list. Even putting it higher than Link to the Past? But it's all subjective I guess.

For Skyward Sword, i have to agree, it was the first Zelda game ever, i didnt finish.. just lost motivation halfway or so, didnt think that would ever happen to me with a zelda game..
Glad to see that you and most of the comments here liked TP as well. I really feel it is so much underrated in the community. When I played it, it gave me almost the same good feelings as OoT did back then.. crying when the queen rutela/serenade of water theme plays, is the most memorable thing i have in mind. need to replay it, played it only once.

This is my favorite too. Its the only game I 100% completed. All the upgrades for items, all Golden Bugs, all the heart pieces and moves. It will always hold a special place in my nerdy heart lol
I remember when I heard about there being a location called "Hidden Village" in Twilight Princess, I assumed it was, like, a secret town that you could discover by exploring or doing a special sidequest, and I thought that sounded cool. Then I actually played the game and discovered that it wasn't "hidden" at all, it was just another mandatory stop in the game's linear succession of locations. I'll never forgive it for that.

Huh, I'll have to try this one again after I finish Wind Waker HD(which is amazing). I'll admit I was highly disappointed but this was likely due to just how huge the hype for this game was. For those who don't remember, critics cried like babies, people sang in the streets, and even the likes of Skyrim didn't compare to how much everybody freaked out about this game. Maybe it'll be better without the thoughts of it being the greatest thing ever to exist but good.

You're spot on about that long tutorial. I hate the beginning of Twilight Princess and dislike the teardrop quests. It would've been so much better in terms of pacing without those.
I was never a huge fan of the LoZ series, personally. I've tried Ocarina of Time, the original game, Link to the Past, but I didn't really enjoy any of them. The only ones I really liked were this one and Minish Cap. I don't know what it was about them, but I just had fun with those ones. I dunno.

I consider Twilight Princess to be my favourite Zelda game, and I'm glad you have such a high opinion of it too! I agree, the dungeons and the bosses were really inventive, and the story and characters were quite engaging.
Gamecube version
If you have played Skyward Sword, I don't suggest the Wii version. Especially if you are more accustomed to the SS motion controls.
Twilight Princess might be my favorite Zelda-game and the part when this song plays might be my absolute favorite place in the game. Coming into the hidden village and you're suddenly in a wild west-styled bow and arrow battle with a bunch of enemies with this music in the background! I loved the Wii-controls, so even better :D

I love how upbeat this song really is. Twilight Princess is the only 3D zelda game i have not played. I will play it someday. I have heard some amazing things about it and i know the music is top notch. Whenever i purchase this game, should i get the gamecube or wii version? I would appreciate any suggestions.

Shooting all the bad guys with the bow + Hawkeye with this song playing is one of my favorite set pieces in any video game.

Heh, never played this game (Haven't played a Zelda since Wind Waker), but I knew this'd come up eventually. I have watched playthroughs of the game, and this is one track that really stood out to me, along with Midna's Desperate Hour.
I know a few people who have said Twilight Princess is their favourite Zelda, and I honestly can't blame them. The Twilight Realm timeline is definately my favourite overall, I appreciate the general darker tones and designs. Tgogh my two favourite individual Zelda games are actually Link's Awakening and (because I'm SO original xD) OOT.

Twilight Princess' dungeons are varied, long and challenging. When I played, I'd almost get a claustrophobic sensation while being deep in the dungeons, the same one I get when going through some of the Metroid series' areas. When I'd finally complete a dungeon and step outside after hours of great puzzles and battles, I wouldn't have been surprised if Link spoke for the first time just to say he was glad to see the sun and breathe fresh air again.
I think it's the first time in the list I upload a track from the same series twice in a row! I actually find Twilight Princess has a couple of flaws, including the overlong tutorial, the mostly bland overworld and unappealing character design (I did like Link, Zelda and Midna though!). However, it completely makes up for it with my favorite dungeons and bosses in the series. That and some very unique and fun items (spinner, ball and chain, double clawshot, etc.).
