Monster Hunter games are unbelievably dull (I've only tried Tri though). Still, decent song. Sounds like it's right out of Beowolf :D.

Abyssal Lagiacrus is worse. He's the king of stuns, and getting hit by his head when he does his Elec-Spiral attack will always result in stun... aside from getting Thunder-Blight.

You've probably already gotten this mentioned several times over the past month or so; but check the game out - or at the very least, check out the second part of Ceadeus's theme. Amazing.
It not only plays with Lagiacrius, but also with other big monsters in Moga Forest. Although I got more hyped when I fight against the Lagiacrus with this music, fits better the whole battle in my opinion.

I think, it's not just the fights. Hour after hour you build up your weapon, armor and ressources (potions, traps, bombs, etc.) and all that is put to a 20 min. test, after which you reap the success of all the hard work you put up to that point. The first downing of the new, bigger, stronger monster is always an event you will remember for a long time.

Same feeling here, MH games seems to be complicated at the first look. Now I played more than 300h on Tri and twice at MH3U on 3DS an I think this is one of the best game I've ever played :D be careful you can't stop playing when you get caught

The demos never do justice for the games.
"The series seems to give a nice sense of accomplishment after big fights". You're damn right it does! Nothing feels better than watching the creature you've been fighting for 10+ minutes finally going down. I've yet to see a game that matches that feeling in the same way.
It's the kind of a game that starts out very slowly, but you'll start to see its appeal by the time you get your first fights with large monsters, namely Great Jaggi, Royal Ludroth, and maybe Arzuros and Lagombi, although the latter two aren't that great, those should keep you motivated until you finally get to your first fight the Lagiacrus, after which you'll be hooked. I know it's an overused word, but fighting those giant monsters is simply epic. The music helps, of course.
When fighting a Lagiacrus in the water it's so freaking intense and epic!
Yeah, the demo does a really bad job at introducing you to the game. Once you go invested ,you never go back!
I miss my good ol hunting days with my MH buddies. I'm glad that I was able to share such good times with awesome people. Over 1000hrs of gameplay will never be forgotten. Happy hunting everyone!
Keep working on the game. All the hours you put into it really pay off and gives you a great feeling of accomplishment when you finally get that weapon or armor set you spent so much time making. It's definitely a better game with friends though, so if you have some others to play the game with it will be a much better experience or at least it is for me. It's probably my favorite co op game ever.
I just got 3 Ultimate for my 3DS, and though I was sceptical at first, I can happily say that this has become one of my favorite video game series of all time. The story isn't anything special, but everything else is AMAZING! Can't wait for 4 to come outside of Japan! :3

I played the demo for Ultimate on Wii U.... didn't feel that great to me and I felt kind of disappointed, because I thought I would love it. Then a friend lent me the Wii version. One of the most addicting games I've ever played, I swear.

I have like 400 hours in Tri for the Wii and it's one of my favorite games of all time. Supra, you gotta play it more.
Is there a word for the way the percussion is positioned, sort of? Like where it sounds like it is in a different spot than the rest of the music, and it's not all just mixed into the same mono track? I'm explaining this poorly but any help would be appreciated.
The demo is a really shitty representation of the game.
I originally played the games by myself, had a bit of fun but it felt lacking. Moment you get 2-3 friends with you, you honestly get a completely different experience and it gets insanely fun taking down big guys on hardest difficultly
Supra, I implore to spend more time with these games, I have the Wii U version and I feel like it's the only game I ever needed for it.
From what I've seen the demos really do not give a very good sense of the game. It is a series that requires a fairly decent time investment, but does feel very rewarding as you progress to take down larger and more dangerous monsters with each hunt. Adding to that the nice variety with different weapons and great multiplayer make for a pretty nice experience. If you are still interested I'd advise trying the full game some time (the WiiU/3DS version at least, it's a straight upgrade to the wii)
Yeah this series is pretty epic once you get to the big hunts. Plus you have "stories" to tell if you hunted them by yourself.
Lance + Lagiacrus = EZ mode.
It's a game that you have to put HUGE amounts of time into to get anywhere. I never had the time to do that, but the sense of accomplishment from taking down a big enemy is what sells this game. Kind of similar to Dark Souls, but with more planning and strategy, I guess.
GODDAMN ELECTRIC DOUBLE HIPCHECKS
A lot of the fights in Monster Hunter games feel like massive boss fights to the death, where you're the little guy biting at a dragon's ankles; a dragon which is completely capable of killing you in one fell swoop. Besides the great music that accompanies these fights, the thought that you are battling creatures you can't simply kick around is what makes the hunts worthwhile. That, and kick-ass gear you make out of the monster's own skin and bones >:D
It's cool to hear all the other instruments without the Lagiacrus trying to tear your shit up
This is a series I haven't gotten into yet. I only played this game's demo and it didn't really click with me. Seeing how popular it is though, I'm guessing you need to spend more time with the game to get a hang of it and see its great appeal. I did watch a couple videos, one of which was a fight against Laciagrus (the dragon in the pic above), the fight lasted about 20 mins and this music made the whole fight quite epic!
