I seriously loved this game. It showcased everything about the Wii U so well (probably not literally everything but you know what I mean lmao). I might need to go back and play some more of that DK one :s. Great song by the way. Like someone else said though, that evening song! :D

The Zelda game was fun with the shields, swords, and the one archer (who better know what they're doing!). The Luigi mansion vs Ghost I find to be difficult to win if you are a Luigi. The one game with the "Tag: Team try to catch One player" is fun too. And of course the Candy Collecting game where the one person is in charge of TWO knights and the other players try to hold Candy which slows them down but brings them closer to victory is a hoot!
For a split second I had Phoenix Wright flashbacks.
I was pleasantly surprised with this game. It was better than I expected it to be. I do wish it wasn't so Mii based and that Wii Remotes weren't the required controller for multiplayer. I wanted pro controller support, off TV play, and achievements/trophies for every game on Wii U. Mario chase and the Luigi Ghost hunting one did provide lots of hours of the family gathered around the TV playing together on Christmas day and at other family parties.
The weird thing seems to be that Nintendo made the Wii U purely to make Nintendo games on it, and didn't seem to put serious effort or funding into third party games. They have the money to buy up exclusives, and Bayonetta 2 is a good grab, though not exactly a game that will sell like crazy. There will be a lot of major franchises missing from it entirely, which is unfortunate. I plan to grab one next year with Smash Bros, X, Mario Kart, and I may give Nintendo Land a spin too.

The Wii sold with Wii Sports cause of three things: 1. The curiosity and excitement to play as virtually as possible (back then). 2. Sports, one of the most popular items of entertainment ever! 3. Free game included lol XD
I agree, however the ironic thing is it's a much better game than Wii Sports, in my opinon.
What? That's a shame, because Wii Sports was crap and this game is DA BOMB. I hadn't had that much fun with a multiplayer game since the Gamecube.
I loved the game! Can't believe how big and fleshed out the solo games are! especially pikmin, zelda and metroid! if you're ever buying a wii it's really worth it's money!

NSMB Wii U was simply a safe sequel to NSMB Wii, it was never meant to showcase the console it's on. They fully expected Nintendo Land to sell Wii Us by showing its unique capabilities, the same way Wii Sports did it for the Wii. Iwata himself said during a recent interview that Nintendo "hoped that Nintendo Land would have been able to execute that kind of responsibility (Wii Sports')". And it didn't.
The problem is that while Wii Sports could appeal to any person, even non-gamers, because sports are pretty common, but Nintendoland appeals to Nintendo fans. A Wii Sports game was shown during a demo of the Wii U in E3 2011 but there's no word on an actual release. They should have made a third Wii Sports game with remakes of Wii Sports/Resort minigames along with new ones to alongside Nintendoland and Miiverse users walking around Wuhu Island like in Nintendoland. Wii Sports Universe maybe?

Although there will be good games out on the Wii U, I do not plan on getting one actually. The more as time passed the more I noticed they really are better if you have family or friends to play alongside you. I have neither making it actually ineffeciant.

I consider it to be more of a collection of NES-era styled games rather than "mini" games in the true sense. The games have way more depth than a mini game would be expected to. Pikmin Adventure was essentially a beat-em-up, the Zelda and Takamaru's Ninja Castle games were like playing light gun games on the NES, and Balloon Trip Breeze was a half-hour-long romp that's roughly the length of many actual NES games, with a good degree of satisfying challenge and depth.

Yeah, the Zeldagame with friends is rly fun and if you want to fight against each other, metroid is the way to go.
Nintendo put all its bets on this game to sell Wii Us at launch, but is it really surprising that it didn't sell consoles as well as a mass market concept like Wii Sports? I actually find the game itself very fun (especially multiplayer) with a lot of nice mini games. The audiovisual presentation is top notch, though I still find the whole Mii system extremely unappealing.
