Wow is this the same composer who did part of Skies of Arcadia? It sounds very different.
Don't bother with it. The game itself wasn't great, but the bland music was the biggest disappointment of all.

I agree that the soundtrack was seriously bland compared to the first YI game. That and the loosened play control (including the misguided decision to have hold button running), and the comparatively disappointing final boss made it a clearly inferior (but far from unplayable) installment.
I liked this game
This is literally one of the only good themes in the game, the others being Windblown Wilderness and the Title Screen theme that no one hears since you have to wait a while to hear it!
Music aside, I can't believe they managed to make such boring and uninspired level designs. They tried to add diversity with the other baby characters, but they were all pulled off in such a lame way that made me wonder "why?" The saddest thing is that they're making Yoshi's New Island for the 3DS that brings nothing new to the table except a (surprise!) screen-clearing attack. Nintendo, please just let Yoshi's Island die. Make a different Yoshi game.
I actually find this one track very memorable...but again....shame it was only this track.

You could say the music is a great representation of the game. To a sequel to one of the best games...ever, Yoshi's Island DS almost feels like a fangame, despite being a sequel. I feel Yoshi's New Island will follow suit, as it's being done by the exact same staff.

I disliked this game. I couldn't stand the dual screens. I found enemies liked to fly in the gap between the two screens all the time, making them basically invisible. I don't know if it's just me, but I also found that the camera liked to fly around everywhere and it made me nauseous. The gameplay itself wasn't bad. It controlled nicely. I just really disliked the multiple babies mechanic. Having to switch all the time to do certain things or to collect certain items wasn't fun for me.
Such an underrated game
That was most the reason I couldn't finish this game honestly. It had solid platforming and all, but I just didn't want to listen to the game, which was half the magic of the SNES title. Oh well, hopefully the 3DS one is better.
Eugh. This game....Just no. I'm not confident in Yoshi's New Island either. I don't think they'll ever be able to recapture the genius of the original.
I'm not really a fan of Yoshi's Island in general. I remember beating the GBA port once but that's it.

I didn't dislike this game, but....the gba one was just soooo much better. Same goes for the ost.
Coolest song in Yoshi's Island DS is the title screen. So relaxing, just like the original.
No wonder there's a "Yarn Yoshi" game in progress.
I found 95% of this game's OST to be completely unmemorable, which is a huge shame considering it's the other way around with Yoshi's Island (SNES). Windblown Wilderness is by far the best theme in this game, but I also find this track pleasant. The music in general feels way too calm and light hearted, giving me that "Kirby's Epic Yawn" vibe without the solid melodies. Why did they get away from the SNES game's vibe? Check out videos for YI on 3DS, it seems to have the same problem!
