That's the Citadel of Mass Effect. I guess you can call it a giant space station, yeah.
Sounds almost Wing Commander-like, combined with maybe some Babylon 5 and Star Trek. But maybe that's just me, maybe it's just a pure sci-fi track.

I remember... the first time I saw the citadel. I knew I'd love this place, and love it I did.
Definitely one of the defining moments in the first game -the Normandy SR1 docking into the Citadel :).

Nigil will always be my personal favourite Mass Effect track. It's one of those songs that just brings up so much emotion in me, it sends a shiver down my spine every time I hear it :)

Galaxy Map is my personal favorite, or Vigil.
Mass Effect is easily one of my favorite series ever, and the Citadel, mythos, and universe were all a big part of why. Heck, I'd put ME2 in my Top 20 of all time.

It was such an awesome feeling, hearing this track and seeing the Citadel. What a piece of entertainment this game was.
Sadly this area was the only one in the game where I actually took notice of the music. In the other games there was, to me, a lot more ambiance and more engaging background music.

One of the few tracks composed by Richard Jacques, I like how fitting it is to the grandiose Citadel. The first time I walked around the Citadel, I remember thinking it'd be pretty cool to live there. Jack Wall's synthetic sound is the reason this game has my favorite soundtrack in the series. Jacques was probably inspired to use some of that same sound in this track with the background bells throughout the track (which you can hear solo right at the end).
