i think out of all the n64 games (at least the couple hundred that I've played) this game has the most mature and just overall most sophisticated sounding soundtrack. if that makes any sense. i just love the depth to each track so much and it literally leaves me breathless even though its just video game music.
never remembered/realized how utterly grand the opening to this song is. didn't even realize what it was until it kicked in around :18. wow! love those sustained notes and warm synth. mmmmm. hard to appreciate how good the music is in the rage of battle.

@mamamuas my guess is MK Wii U will have no more than 2 N64 stages since the majority of the retro stages will probably consist of DS, Wii, and 7 stages, not to mention filling in a little of Super, SC, and DD

i like all the mario karts. SNES, N64, GCN, DS, and Wii. theyre all fun in my opinion. its not all about coming in 1st in these kinds of games, its about having a good time XP especially with friends =D

this song is awesome. man, this song brings back memories of my N64 days. I remember my bro asking my dad for a SNES for his birthday. But he was in Japan(NAVY), so we got this strange console in the mail from him. it was a N64, before it even came out in the US and we had mario 64 on it. then later got this game. this was my favorite level in the game.
