Moop Bread Supposedly, Jake "Virt" Kaufman did have an MJ-esque song in mind for the soundtrack and while this may have been it, he couldn't find a vocalist that matched the Jackson vibe he was looking for. If what I read was true.
That matches what I remember reading also, I think from the "liner notes" of this soundtrack on Bandcamp. He wanted MJ-style lyrics for this one but didn't know anybody who could pull off the vocals (and I think ran out of development time too).

Being sexist isn't okay....they're actually perpetuating a stereotype. but it's actually a look back into time, which is how things were. It's not okay now, but we're looking at the past, hopefully with a silly grin.
It's not sexist in any way. The girl ends up being a pretty tough boss by the end, and deals the final blow to the main villain. She's not a damsel, and even if she was, having a helpless woman isn't sexist unless the intention behind it was intentionally chauvinistic and sexist. The whole game is deliberately parodying the classic "rescue the damsel" archetype of story structure and does it in a goofy and awesome way. And as far as the GTA comment goes, grow up. It's an mature game.

If you haven't noticed dx, this is a sequel to the last DD game. If you played the older ones, you would notice that the whole plot of the first one is to rescue your girlfriend from a street gang. Of course the new game is sexist, if it means giving people nostalgia, the developers won't change their formula just because people might be offended. That would be like Rockstar growing a conscience and never making another GTA game...
DD Neon's soundtrack is great! Looking forward to hearing his work in Shovel Knight too.

Another great heavy 80s synth track from Kaufman, this one being instrumental. I'm a big fan of his so I'll have to listen to his new Mighty Switch Force 2 soundtrack (loved the first). I still play this game with friends sometimes, always a good time!
