Haven't touched Pokemon since Gold/Silver. I remember freaking out about hearing of the imminent release of Ruby/Sapphire but I just never found my way back to Pokemon again.
You should give the series another chance it's even better than It ever was I would start with Platinum and heart gold and soul silver then go one from there because 5,gen is awesome. Also thank you this is always a great theme to listen to.
Great choice. I am replaying a randomized version of Emerald now, and one of the things I loved about it was that it felt less linear, and there were lots of little nooks and crannies to explore around the region.

HeartGold/SoulSilver are AMAZING! I was a big fan of Gen 4 as well. I haven't been a fan of black/white and im trying black/white2 now, its a bit better. If you were to pick it back up I'd say start with diamond or platinum and then HG/SS

I wouldn't have picked this particular piece, haha. But still, wow. Even to this day, Pokémon Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald are some of my favourite Pokémon games. I keep going back to play them over and over :)

Last Pokemon I played was Diamond. I am three games behind now---four once X is released.
Hard to believe this game is 10 years old. Ruby was the last Pokemon game I was really into and the last new generation I played. I have a lot of fond memories of Ruby, plus it has MOTHAFUDGING GROUDON!

Never got to play this Gen, and I can't find cartridges...so Wii U Virtual Console, when you start adding GBA titles please be sure to add Pokemon Emerald.

This game is 10 years old now, which also means I haven't played a Pokemon game in 10 years. That's crazy, especially because of how big a fan I was during its first generation (Pokemon was basically my favorite thing ever from 1998 to 2000). I'll probably come back to it someday. I've always liked this theme, has a great waltz feel to it. Also the first game I played on my Gameboy Advance SP, the frontlit screen blew me away.
