I miss playing skyrim
So sad that the game itself didn't live up to its music. A lot of bland and anticlimactic questlines, seemingly fewer side-quests than Oblivion, but we did have a lot of 'radiant AI' bullshit where you could do the same 'kill bandit' quest over and over. Only this time he's in a different dungeon! Well... different... I mean one that has the same puzzles and Draugr and no interesting loot. Have fun! Oh, and no magic crafting for you... or class building. The environments (the ones including foliage anyway) looked like a green soup with a lot of brown tints. Even fire seemed rather pallid. It's like a dull filter was laid over the screen compared to Oblivion, and the environments weren't very varied. Many places looked too much alike. It just felt like Skyrim was to Oblivion what Fallout 4 was to Fallout 3. Less depth, more 'polished' and shiny. And it's not like Oblivion was deep either. The music saved what it could save.
Probably the only track in the game that I like. I also like the music in Solstheim.
I never noticed until now how beautiful this theme is.
Yeah I loved hearing this song in Skyrim. it is so serene and somber. It's absolutely beautiful.

I've got so many chills right now from listening to this.
I could never get through a full loop of this track because I'd always wind up loading a save I made before hiding an axeblade in a Battle-Born after they say something stupid.
If it wasn't for my ex, I would never have discovered this game or the music. She'll be a tough act to follow.
got this, played through it for a year constantly, did a good 200 hours and then for some stupid reason i decided to trade it in and i was no where near finished with all the quests and stuff...i really want to get this game again but keep putting it off, i threw so many hours into oblivion, fallout 3 and new vegas but not nearly as much as skyrim
I hate that skyrim is watered down compared to oblivion

Yeah... it'll be all you think about day and night. When you're at school or work, you have the thought to finish a quest in the back of your mind. I think throwing my life away for about 3 weeks (yes I played it like 8 hours a day during my winter break) is 100% worth it.
Aaaand this is why I quit playing MMORPGs in high school.

Skyrim, I must admit, it's kind of legendary game. Not for the plot, wich is a must just for Jrpgs, but it can give you strong emotions while exploring the region, from the cities to the wild enviroment! And when a game has locations like the mages' college or the Blackreach (!!!!) you can't do anything but say: "OMG this game IS epicness" sorry for my english but I'm italian and I'm only 16 :')
Its so surreal, really. How many times have we all gone back to Whiterun after a quest to sell stuff and never noticed something so beautiful? I feel at a lost now.

I think I speak for everyone when I say that we were all so caught up in either loving or hating this game that no one noticed what a beautiful soundtrack it had.

Absolutely incredible soundtrack! It gave me chills. I have to wonder... have you played Child Of Eden? The evolution stage is one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
i haven't beaten it, but i am playing it. it's a pretty good game, but you're missing out if you haven't played Rez/Rez HD/Rez Infinite (I've only played Rez HD, haven't gotten Infinite yet. For a while, HD was my favorite game, was recently beaten by No Man's Sky)
Skyrim soundtrack is beyond words, it's completely immersing and so well composed that Jeremy should have earned some prize for it! I listen them almost every day to relax and escape a little from my boring routine. Wish I was a Dovahkiin...

Hey SupraDarky, I listened to your playlist while in my undergrad about 2 years ago. I hadn't listened for a long time, and recently started work as a game tester when I saw one of your videos pop up. I went through all 1304 videos (+your original album) over the past 3 weeks while testing (though not while testing for audio bugs!). Thanks for curating such a great list. The music you've chosen has made me interested in many games I love now; Ace Combat, Shatter, SotN to name a few. Thank you!

I am so happy to have my autographed copy of this OST. :) Its amazingly emotional and atmospheric, the music is half of the reason I loved exploring Skyrim so much.
quite possibly one of the best games made. Not perfect but amazing. I still fire it up from time to time after finishing the main quest and just explore and discover new things. Simply amazing that they build such a huge world to explore, let alone all the other stuff you can do and enjoy.
Do it. You won't regret it. I played Morrowind and Oblivion and although both games where great gaming experiences, which I'll likely never forget, I have to say that none of them captured me as Skyrim. Hell, from time to time I get so immersed that I catch myself taking screenshots of the beautiful scenery :) Not to mention the great story, fights and dungeons ;)

This was instantly my favourite track on the album and I've never touched the game :)
This game leaves me torn. On one hand, I adore its world and atmosphere, music included. At the same time, it is a rather shallow, repetitive RPG. Hasn't stopped me from sinking 100s of hours into it, though.

Make me sad that when I play games, I most of the time ignore the soundtrack. Only time I truly enjoy them is when I hear them without really playing the game. I guess some songs play best alone.
Nice music but surely it should be called The Street of Whiterun, wasn't exactly a big place.
Song rocks, but Skyrim sucked. It was great at the start then I realized it was a pointless game in terms of an RPG.
The songs are very relaxing.All Bethesda games have a soul.

And, to think, Soule's start in the industry right out of high school doing the Secret of Evermore soundtrack for Square. He's come a long way since then.
Soule always makes fantastic music. In Guild Wars 1 I would sometimes turn off all sound except the background music to play because it was just so GOOD. :)
These games always have great, immersive music.

oh sorry then.. you're not entirely at fault. Then again, you should be aware that the PS4 isnt out yet so...and skyrim came out 15 months ago. Anyway no big deal lol

Great track. Funny you should upload this track just in time for me to get back from work after a pretty bad day. Helps me put things in perspective and relax.

look for "far horizons" and "from past to present", both are part of skyrim's OST and IMO, the best fucking songs Jeremy Soule has ever composed
I don't see how it is over rated. While it may not be as good as Morrowind, it is still a really good game.
I'm right with you. When I first played Skyrim I couldn't get into it, but the music alone makes me want to give it another go.
I didn't really enjoy Skyrim all that much, but the things it did well were AMAZING. The map, the voice acting, and of course the music were fantastic.
I use to just chill and listen to this alot. I didn't wanna leave Whiterun because this is an awesome track so I would get all the boring stuff outta the way as much as I could in Whiterun. :)
While I do think that Skyrim is easily one of the most overrated games of all time, I do have to admit that the game's music is quite good.
Eh, don't bother. Morrowind is far better. Imo, Skyrim was a disappointment.

Kinda hard to appreciate the beauty of this music when the same guy comes up to you every five seconds going "Do you get to the cloud district very often? ...Who am I kidding, of course you don't." -_-

Sadly the kind of game I know I'd love to delve into for a minimum of a month's time, but am opting to avoid due to similar reasons. Got enough games to stroll through without adding this to the tally.
Due to the popularity of this game, I don't doubt a PS4 version will be made.
the game is so immersive people tend to overlook the soundtrack. yet when we hear it, we are instantly reminded of the times we spent playing it. it is the same with oblivion and marrowind, and just goes to show us how amazing the music is in the elder scroll series.

Jeremy Soule nailing another atmospheric theme that just makes you want to get lost in the game's world. I haven't played this game much actually, only a couple hours. I've invested so much time in Morrowind and Oblivion, I didn't want to get too addicted during my studies. And now with my gigantic backlog, I'd rather go through some of the shorter games. Someday, for sure.
