Very underrated game, and my personal favorite from 2012! Doesn't help that IGN and Gamespot were called out on misinformation in their reviews, and yet they didn't revise said reviews (that kind of negligence and people still take them seriously?) http://www.coffeewithgames.com/2012/12/critics-vs-customers-zombiu-reviews-or.html Even a year later I play this game regularly in an attempt to get higher in the leaderboards and to finally beat Survival Mode. This is an amazing survival horror title, and if you have a Wii U it's a must-own.
Action or not is fine in a horror game as long as the experience is satisfying, I doubt everyone expects every horror game to be complete action. This game could have been a complete cognitive journey and many would have been totally good with that if the game play was satisfying. It was not. The soundtrack, however, was excellent.
i hate how people expect horror games to be actiohn games now.
Good soundtrack. I watched my friend play this game and have to agree it is garbage.
Game = garbage, soundtrack = good. Metacritic 77% rating = wait till the games is $20 or less to try it lol
I notice the beginning of this song that it has the same elements of Archival Knowledge from Citadel DLC (ME3) which of course isn't surprising since it's the same composer

This sounds good, and I have heard many bad things about this game, which is a shame, because it does look quite fun and I love survival horror games. I don't have a Wii U yet and don't plan on getting one until they fix all (or most) of the kinks in it. I just hope that by then, they make an update for more melee weapons. You'd think you'd find something better than than a cricket bat in London!?
Well, the game actually has a 77% Metacritic rating, which is quite good.

This game had a nice soundtrack, surprisingly. Seeing that I will probably not buy a Wii U, I doubt I will ever get a chance to actually play it, but watching playthroughs will get me by. I picked (and extended) this track for my list as well.

fun fact, this is not a new IP. the first game was an Amiga called Zombi and was one of Ubisofts first games ever. It's rare to see a WiiU game on the list of top 10 games of 2012, though this game would probably be somewhere on my top 10 list too. This game was unfailry hated by some critics who were expecting an action game.
Can't say I would enjoy this game, even resident Evil and Left 4 Dead failed to impress me, maybe I just dislike ZOmbie games...Except ZOmbies Ate My Neighbors
This game is amazing game They can improve the formula nice game and make a true master piece but hands down still the best survival horror game in a long time.
I haven't played through this game yet, maybe 8 hours into it? And I agree, as much as I love smashing skulls in with a Cricket bat, the occasional pipe or randomly grabbed chair would be reeeally nice. As for the reviews, I haven't read a single one, but I've heard the game wasn't exactly praised. Aside from the combat thing, and some technical flaws and annoyances here and there, I can't think of a lot to complain to be honest!
I played through this game at a friend's house (no Wii U yet). I've always been a fan of the survival horror genre and that's what this game is all about. There were some very harsh reviews and reading them again now, I can't agree with some of the faults they list (Eurogamer's review is the most in line with my thoughts). In this game, patience truly is a virtue. The story and ending were disapointing and really, Ubisoft, why not give us more than one melee weapon for the sake of variety?
