Technically the second game is better, but there is just something very special about the first Shadow Hearts.

One of my favorite RPGs of all time. I thought it pretty much had it all: great story, music and graphics, fun battle system, memorable cast of characters, perfect mix of serious and lighthearted themes, humor that's actually good. Playing the first Shadow Hearts greatly enhances the enjoyment of this game too as it's a direct sequel. This track played while dressing up (upgrading) Gepetto's doll, who acts as his weapon.
