I love StarTropics 1 and 2. I voted for Mike Jones to get into the new Smash, but sadly he didn't make it. Maybe one day...
This was actually a really good and underrated game.
That'd be the perfect song for Tropicman's stage if he ever existed... (I imagine him as a Blanka-based bot). Take notes those who are working in Megaman 11!

The game came with a letter from your uncle that While playing the game you have to dip in water to reveal the code needed in order to progress through the game. Lose it or don't have it and well there are only 000-999 options to guess until you get it right. All for the cause and worth every second lol.
If you know '747' you know StarTropics.
Oh I have to be sure Startropics and I go way back not to mention Zoda's Revenge.
I never did get to play this game, wonder if it's on VC, gonna go see.
Years ago, a friend and I sat down for hours playing this, and this theme was stuck in my head for the longest time. It's now back in there. Thank you. =)
Well, now I know what my next ringtone is going to be.
I played both StarTropics when I was younger than I can remember, and all I remember is trying to kill Darth Vader with my yoyo and delivering pizzas to Cleopatra. Which should be enough to tell anyone that this is one amazing game.
My cousin still has the piece of paper included in the packaging that you had to get wet to reveal the code later in the game.
Who else got stuck after the whale scene because you didn't have the instructions to dip in water and get the 747 mhz needed to progress? I almost felt like it was copy protection haha. Thank goodness for nintendo power in those pre internet days.

I'd agree that we'd need another... if Zoda's Revenge wasn't... well, mediocre. Still, I wouldn't be surprised to see Mike in the next Smash. If they could dig up the Ice Climbers, why couldn't they him?
The problem with that is Mike isn't exactly a "legacy hero". He's a kid who comes from modern day.

A sequel doesn't necessarily have to continue the storyline from the previous game. Take Zelda for example.

Growing up as a child, I personally loved everything about these games, and would love to see a revival of it.
My very first videogame! This song has forever stuck with me most of my life. Startropics for life!
I love simple NES songs like this. They never get old.

I remember you had to put the instruction booklet in water or something like that to find some code that I think the guy's father left behind for him or something like that.

This game is a classic, exclusively made for North America and Europe. It's a series Nintendo should revisit, we need more Mike Jones adventures! Him and Ness, two heroes with awesome yo-yo skills that I very much miss.
