i regret not finishing the 3rd piece in the prime trilogy, but still had a blast exploring entire planets. i'll miss this game. Maybe i'll buy a new wii and look for my trilogy case somewhere... good times...

Unfortunately the Prime series is finished, but If Nintendo can learn from their mistakes (by giving Metroid to Team Ninja of all companies), maybe, just maybe, we can get Retro to make another masterpiece.

this is probably my all-time favorite video game music... ever.
what clever level design, we explore it when it's functional at the beginning of the game then revisit the place when it's crashed and waterlogged and topsy turvy. Love it.
this is one of the very first games i ever playrd, my first being super mario sunshine
I got lost on my first playthrough and i went really far into the wreckage without the water-jump upgrade. This music was so fitting. It got really scary because i was so cramped in the water.
Already 10 yrs old? I can't believe that. I've always been a Nintendo fan, TLoZ being my favorite franchise, but my favorite game might very well be this one. Funny thing is, I got the game as a bonus with my Gamecube and was (at first) disappointed in not getting a game I was more interested in. What a surprise I got when I actually got to playing this masterpiece.

You can definitely give credit to Retro Studios for making just a great game.
I love how special Metroid Prime's soundtrack feels. It stands out from the others and seems to provoke nostalgia very well, and WILL get stuck in your head at least once. At one moment you'll be on the edge of your seat, hoping nothing's around that next corner, and the next moment you're being comforted by waves of nostalgia, then getting pumped up for a boss battle. It's something that is so rare, yet so beautiful. I just wish there were more games with astounding soundtracks like this.

I've been playing Nintendo in some form since the Mario 3 era, but for some reason skipped over Metroid. Then my cousin introduced me to this game...
I'm not. I'm glad none of the games SD used so far have all the tracks posted. Even though 1000+ is a lot, he really hasn't used more than a quarter of each games' tracks, which is AWESOME!!!

Twilight Princess is one of the best games I have ever played. I also played the gamecube version first before getting a Wii so I understand and can see your point of view. Personally I just enjoyed Prime the most, I think it was a matter of timing for me. Twilight Princess was 3 years later and I had just gotten married and was in school full time and only experienced it in chunks of about one hour a day. Prime I was able to spend a whole weekend with uninterrupted in the middle of the day.

After a few years of the Wii gathering dust, I decided to play this game again on the Trilogy version over the weekend. The graphics still looked modern. I can say the same thing with other Gamecube games like Super Mario Sunshine. With that art style, you don't need $200 graphics cards that become outdated after six months. It just looks brilliant.
I used to spend so much time in the frigate just to listen to this song... Metroid Prime holds so many good memories of my childhood

I was talking about the music but yea i bought it for $10 and was suprised by how bad it was and didnt even bother with hard because not having to look for powerups takes away what makes metroid metroid. The only thing i did love about other m was seeing classic moves like screw attack and shinespark in 3rd person 3D, shinesparking was the most fun part of the game for me.

Super Metroid is one of my favourite games of all time. When Metroid Prime came out I bought it, but I was somehow very disappointed. I came a bit into Chozo Ruins before I finally decided I couldn't keep playing the game. About 8 years later, I wanted to try the game again, I don't know why. Deciding to try the game again was a very good decision. For this time I loved it. I can't believe I had missed out on such a great game. I can't believe I didn't like it back then. Very good game.

Sorry to disappoint you but Metroid: Other M is an rotten apple among the series. If you have the change, try it and see for yourself. Thought I must admit that hard mode in it really is hard.

I'm currently nearing the end of Prime 2. The first is easily the best but both games are just mindbending.

Probably the Wii version, yes. It's amazing. 1 1/2 at into the game at most, and the controls feel like the most natural thing. Also, holy crap 10 years.
Metroid Prime Trilogy is one of the best things that ever happened. This music is very sad and beautiful at the same time, which fits the area -a sunken spacecraft taken over by wildlife- very well.
Can't go wrong with Metroid.
One thing that this game was among the first to do was use advanced loading so the load times would stay under control. About 90% of today's games still haven't caught on to this.

No, they didn´t, but Retro is working on a WiiU project, which could be Metroid, Starfox or something different.
Nintendo always has a studio for legendary series. HAL - Kirby & Smash bros. Game Freak - Pokemon Nintendo - Mario & Zelda(duh) Rare - Donkey Kong(R.I.P Rare Nintendo brotherhood) And Retro Studios with Metroid. Not to say others have done poor or anything with any of these franchises, but these companies really went above and beyond with their respective franchises

This game was so amazing and perfect. It's heinous to believe that Metroid Prime 2 and Prime 3 departed from it so wildly that they almost could be considered bad.
Another song that I thought already was on the list. This song really blew me away the first time I heard It. I didn't expect to hear anything like this while playing the game.
I played this game for the first time last year, and other than the graphics being pretty dated, was blown away by it, great gameplay, fantastic music etc. Really hope there'll be a next gen version for the Wii U
Yay for the gameplay mechanics (Speed Booster in particular was a nice thing to bring back, and some of the bosses like Nightmare and Phantoon were fun but frustrating) Nay for the mandatory story scenes at every turn. (makes Samus looks like a puss ranting like that.) By the way, did they confirm a Metroid game for WiiU yet?
I've never played a metroid game before but this song alone makes me want to.
I only hope that the WiiU's Metroid brings the series back to dominance, after Other M's melodramatic swandive.

This and Phendrana Drifts are relaxing in a similar way. Nice piano and sound effects. Honetly, the fact that this game will be 10 years old in 2 months blows my mind. It was completely ahead of its time, a pure masterpiece. Definitely a game I'll have to replay someday, probably the Wii version.
