Being a long time fan of Megaman, Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, Castlevania, Silent Hill, i'm full od sadness for the way Japan is facing the "crisis". If mediocre to horrible titles like DmC, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Silent Hill Downpour are Japan's answer, i'm afraid to know the question :S
Indeed, my friend, indeed. As an all time fan since Mundus, Trish and Dante united for an awful voice acting, I can't agree more about Ninja Theory being one huge of a shitty producer AND Capcom really killing it's own awesome series. Seriously... Does everybody in Street Fighter IV take body building pills as their morning breakfast? And why the hell is Resident Evil 5 an action game?
If I could ever thank you for saying everything I have noticed (a few added information, actually), so far... THANK. YOU. BROKEN. YAMATO. NOW I KNOW WHY YOU'RE BROKEN, PRETTY AWESOME SWORD! (I'd rather consider Yamato a Kodachi than a Katana, considering it's size on both DMC3SE and DMC4, but anyways...) If you have been following Ninja Theory at all, you should know why fans are pissed. They are hypocratical in thinking that they have good writing skills, they still struggle with coding a game after making three action-based titles, they have removed any SSSensational skill with obtaining large comboes and let's not get started with the FUCK YOU. Capcom has become complacent with their franchises, and along with the plenty other messes QA are forced to endorse, it shows.
*Sigh* Time for me to dig out DMC3 and my PS2...

Devil May Cry 3 had an excellent soundtrack. Really dig the organ parts, and the break in this one. If I'm not mistaken this song was also featured in one of the first trailers. I remember watching it over and over because it was so well done.
Nope, my version's the original ("no" difficulty might be a bit of an exaggeration, but certainly by DMC standards it was much easier).
No difficulty? You must be playing the watered down version of the game that was released later. Try playing the North American version of the game that came out before the special edition.

Dante's weapons were fun for a bit, but it just seemed like he could tear though just about anything he encountered with no difficulty; being able to switch styles on the fly especially put him over the top, imo. Really, though, the backtracking was the bigger problem.
Well... the direction the series is going... I honestly dont like it. The combat was AWESOME as always, its just that it is not Devil may cry. Its not following the old direction of art style or music too much :P Also, it seems that "FUCK YOU!!!!" is the new theme for Devil may cry (also dante seems to shout that a lot in DMC), which dissapointed me a lot.
Picked up the HD collection and love this series. The third was awesome but I never finished it so now I have the chance to redeem myself in HD with trophies. I died on the first boss already.
I felt that Nero was overpowered and had the advantage because of his arm grab stuff. When I got to Dante I just wanted to play as Nero again because of Yamato and the grab mechanics. Dante's weapons were awesome and I love the character but I didn't feel like he was overpowered.

Vergil looks like a pussy in the DMC reboot
DMC4 is a decent game, though nowhere near as good as 3 or 1. Nero was surprisingly fun to play as, but the Dante section (between the backtracking and Dante being ridiculously overpowered) kind of puts a damper on the overall game. Bayonetta, even if the heroine isn't the greatest, is a much better game that's still very DMC-esque (same creator).
DMC>DMC3>DMC2>DMC4 I've finished all of them, and that's what I think. Nothing tops the feeling of exploring that eerie castle in DMC 1, but holy shit was DMC 3 insanely cool, even though some parts (guitar weapon lol) were trying too hard.
I beat DMC4 but i don't recall ever beating the 1st or 3rd one maybe it was a long time ago or I didn't quite finish them.

I don't like the trailer for the new DMC. The characters are too different. It reminds me of DMC2. Being reminded of DMC2 is not a good thing.

This song is awesome as for the reboot i have no faith in Ninja Theory as they just threw away everything that makes Dante Dante and don't even get me started on what they did to Virgil. So the DMC reboot is something i'm not picking up and i hope after Capcom takes DMC away from NT and work on the DMC we deserve not this krap there giving us.

I'm a routined DMC player, and I do not recommend DMC4. I did not like it at all, cuz the fighting is a bit sketchy imo, and tha story just plain strange (and after DMC2, that says a rather lot). You might like it though, so if you're curious you should give it a shot. Atleast I have warned you about it. xD

Big Girls Don't Cry?
I don't think they'll slip in the gameplay mechanics or any of the "program" part, but the story seems so disappointing, they've sucked out all the soul the game had. Dante turned out into a teenage in and out (dropping fucks and shits like a 14-years old). Can't say much about vergil with the little that they showed, but he seemed so "idealistic" and "good-willing", much different from the original cocky and cold. His clothes are pretty nice though. Prolly will be: a good game, not a good DMC.

I'm usually not a big fan of this kind of music, but with this series it simply works too well. It makes your heart pump while you're fighting hordes of monsters with the awesome combat system. I haven't played DMC4 yet, I saw it super cheap. I'm very curious about the DMC reboot, it seems like they made some strange decisions (starting with Dante's teenage look). But I have faith in Ninja Theory.
