I believe so, yes. The composer wanted to make these tracks as faithful to the NES/Famicom as possible

I wouldn't say the eShop is "really impressive", but it certainly has its exceptions; I thought Mighty Switch Force was fantastic and I've heard good things from Mutant Mudds too, though I haven't tried it yet. The dearth of software on the 3DS is quite glaring, I've played about half a dozen Virtual Console games to completion and still find it hard to find new games to play (or old ones for that matter, especially compared to XBLA/PSN/Steam, Nintendo could really use some more games.

The Nintendo 3DS' eShop is really impressive. This is another great game released on the system, an old-school 2D platformer with a great chiptune soundtrack. I put a link in the description if you want to download it at any price you want. This game was originally developed as a 3D third person shooter on the DS but I'm glad they changed plans, we need more old school 2D games. It's made by Renegade Kid which also released the Dementium series and Moon on the DS.
