Daniel Licht, was a talented composer, who unfortunately was not very recognized for being in video games and series very Undervalued by the community, but his songs was very good, a pity to hear that this great composer died on August 4, 2017 because Of the cancer, many may not care about this but since I listen to several of his songs I became his fan, a pity that the community of Silent Hill has been very forgotten to be in the silent hill considered the black sheep of the saga and never Was up to the legend Akira Yamaoka, but did a very good job I have to admit
Anyone care to tell me what that string instrument is in there? Not the guitar, the high-pitched one. It's in a lot of Silent Hill songs, and I'm curious, because it's a really iconic sound.
The one with a lot of tremolo when it's played? My guess is that it's a mandolin or something similar.

the game kept telling me what a very clean and organized person I am... I have a feeling they were kinda bs'ing about the realistic psychological profile as I look around my room.
Daniel Licht did a really good job with the soundtrack, you can really hear the Akira Yamaoka influence in this song! The game was alright except for the god awful monster designs which basically looked like hobos and naked slendermen.. Other than that it was alright.
I know that the True SH fans would kill me for this but I really did legitimately like the game, sure its not as good as SH 1, 2 and 3 but hey, at least its better than Homecoming! And the soundtrack is pretty damn awesome.
True fans will like every main Silent Hill game... why ? Because they all had this fresh experience to offer... There really hasn't been a bad SH game really... (Book of memories doesn't exist!) In fact, I was just playing through Homecoming too, and man, I can't explain enough how important it was to the expansion of the Silent Hill lore. The game was so good, with great combat and a really sad and heartbreaking story! Alex is a nicely written character! One thing people can’t stop complaining about is how it featured Pyramid Head. I would like to ask “these” fans if they have ever taken their time to actually follow the original director’s vision on it. Basically, Pyramid head isn’t only unique to James from Silent Hill 2, but is instead the universal symbol for punishment in Silent Hill. You had even seen dark world paintings of it in Silent Hill origins, so how could it be unique to only one game? Anyways, the story was really beautiful in this game, and it had a really good cover art as well. Also, the history of Shepherd’s Glenn was really interconnected with the Silent Hill history, and had details filled in every corner. This was not a bad Silent Hill game, Book of Memories is a bad Silent Hill game… this was a great Silent Hill
@Harris iqbal People bitching about Pyramid Head drives me nuts. Spoilers abound, but if Pyramid Head is meant to serve as James' guilt for killing his wife, then why shouldn't he serve as Alex's guilt for killing his brother? They both killed someone they love, and they both feel so remorseful about it they repress the actual memory of doing it. Whether or not Pyramid Head's inclusion was mega fan service, he still fits in the lore of Homecoming's story.
@Odiekun I agree... They just like to feel superior because they've apparently played the classic games.
Oh yeah I've played all of them (except the embarrassing Vita game). It's my favorite horror series out there bar none. I love Homecoming, I hate 2, and I'm completely unapologetic about it.

True silent hill fans shouldn't bitch about how nothing compares to 2 and all the original 4 are the best. Be open to change you know? That being said I did dislike homecoming and shattered memories, but I loved the story and the atmosphere in Downpour. I do think it would be nice to see the next game have a solid footing in every aspect like the originals BUT I'm not saying it necessarily has to go back to exactly how the first 4 were.
I loved Homecoming. I had 1000/1000, although the achievements weren't too hard to obtain.
the first Silent Hill Game I got. haven't finished it yet so no Spoilers. but so far I'm really enjoying it, I want to finish it but I haven't got the balls to. it's not super scary, but it's really FRIGGIN creepy >_<
Hey, i bought this game for christmas previous year (2012) and it's really awesome i love the story, especially the music and i haven't finish it yet too. I really like this game i have all silent hill games (except book of memories), and i still got silent hill 4 and downpour to finish. i'm gonna buy book of memories soon.

I love all horror games and especially the Silent Hill games even though the stories in them are borderline retarded and the combat wonky and clumsy. I love them for their atmosphere and vibe though. Never can get enough of that. I haven't had a chance to get Origins,Shattered Memories or Downpour yet though. I will find them in a pawn shop for 4 bucks eventually.

This game is really amazing and it could bring the franchise back to life again.. this is my favourite song of this game and it is in the first minutes of the game and it makes this scene in the game so extremely athmospheric.. :)

Wow, you can definitely hear the Dexter influences in this. For that reason alone, I like this track!
It's the best Silent hill in a few years, at least. Comparable to the old ones? I can't really say.
The top comment will probably be something like "No this is dumb bring Akira back" since people are unwilling to let go. Dan Licht did a great job, and be careful about calling him a replacement since the old team has been willing to still work with him. Mary McGlyn even did some vocal tracks for the upcoming Vita game.

I'm sad Yamaoka isn't working on Silent Hill anymore, but I have to give credit for finding a nice replacement in Daniel Licht (notably responsible for the soundtrack in Dexter). This particular theme is very nice. I've always enjoyed the SH games for some reason, there's just something about that series I enjoy, including those last few ones. I'm looking forward to playing Downpour.
