P5R SPOILERS Now that I think about it, they certainly could have done it. They could have had your party members try to stop you from changing reality. They did it with Kasumi. Why couldn't they do it with the rest of the thieves. Woulda made it a lot more satisfying than just talking to them.
Because then most would have said "hurrdurr you're rehashing The Answer hurrdurr" I have to agree though, it would have worked, but.. SPOILERS The choice given to the P3 cast is different to the dilemma the Phantom Thieves face. The former is faced with the choice of repeating an absolutely brutal battle in hope of saving a boy who has been lover to some and friend to others, and centerpiece of the year to all. They fight because some do not want to tarnish the memory of their sacrifice (Akihiko, Ken), some both fear for himself and for the world should they fail (Junpei, Koro), one cannot let him go and is wrecked with guilt at what she has done (Yukari), one has sworn to always support the former in the path in the path of her own happiness, at the cost of her choices (Mitsuru), and one just.. has no idea of what to do. (you/Aigis) The Phantom Thieves instead made a choice based on principle, as in only pertained to their own happiness and the subsequent erasure of free will accepting Maruki's reality would entail. While SEES fought to erase a mistake, the Thieves would have fought for their own selfish, individual needs, and while their fight with Maruki is a selfish endeavor indeed, it's still only so on a team basis, in short, the Phantom Thieves as a team had decided to take back their free will, just as they had done back in December.

JameboHayabusa Eh anyone who played through The Journey should be fine with The Answer tbh. It still gave more story than the first 4 months of P3 (which took almost twice the amount of hours to get through as the Answer.)
@Game Sneak 100% agree with this comment. Finished the answer and coming straight from the journey and loving it, I really love the answer. I have an unpopular opinion but I love the battle mechanics of P3. It truly makes me feel that I'm playing with other people. Cuz of that, I never minded fighting in the answer and going through constantly. Plus idk why people dislike the story of the answer but it's so amazing and I really like how there's more charater development and more story

@Giordan Diodato How were they bad? Not being able to control them made the game harder. Plus they never really did anything stupid. The only thing I can think of is Mitsuru sometimes spaming Marin Karin or Tentrafu in random encounters. She wouldn't do that in boss battles because she would just do mind charge+ Bufudyne
Definitely in the minority, but I thoroughly enjoyed just about everything in The Answer, especially the battle mechanics and was never bothered by not having S. Links either. I especially loved how surprisingly deep the main plot was and how it continued to develop on the already fantastic cast of P3. Maybe it's because it wasn't one of my first SMT games but I was never raging at any point nor did I find it too difficult either.
Nagiii - Yeah the Answer played a lot more like P2, which after playing P2IS and EP I appreciate a lot more

Lo jugué y lo terminé al 100% raramente termino un juego al 100% pero eset fue la excepción me dejó muy encariñado con todos sus personajes, al principio el juego me pareció un cliché más protagonistas con un pasado turbio ¡bah! pensé, que aburrido pero, decidí continuar con esta aventura, y me fui olvidando de los clichés poco a poco y lo fui queriendo más queriendo a los protagonistas del juego a junpei iori mi idiota favorito el juego me hizo valorar más la vida y me hizo ver que la gente sin amistades no puede avanzar y las situaciones tan agradables o tan tristes que puedes experimentar al tener buenos amigos me hizo valorar a mis compañeros de la preparatoria y querer conocerlos y hacer lazos con ellos, lo importante que son los lazos con otras personas para poder lograr tus objetivos es un lindo mensaje que deja persona3 muy recomendado

@CarlVercetti same here, she covers two elemental weaknesses, has strong physical attacks, doesn't have a weakness and her orgia mode is better than Aigis'. Why you shouldn't take her in your party?

@Noriaki Kakyoin easy. The game has already taken an OP party member from you. It's natural the player reacts sceptically when another OP character joins, and one that may be a traitor

@xXDarkmoon599Xx I had Aki, Aigis, and Koro. I started with marakukaja, Aigis matarukaja, then Koro masukaja. Aki would use marakunda or some other debuff and it starts the battle off very well

The AI for the Team members in Persona 3 FES was really good for me.
They weren't bad. If you used the party commands right like "Don't attack" "support/heal" or "all out". But I still prefer direct commands like in P4(G)

@Player One i agree..... and there is no freaking guard in p3 fes! also if nyx avatar for example used Moonless Gown you will of course tell you allies to wait (thats if your turn is the first) and when its lifted and if its not your turn...they still wait! and waste a whole turn! what i'm saying is its not fun when you control one character.....

Persona 3 Portable gave you the option to give direct commands to your teammates. Basically you play Persona 3 with some of the features of Persona 4.
Ironically, my team never did anything stupid. Everything stupid that happened was because I held down rush too long,
@KageNoKishi725 Lucky you. I was lucky enough for all of my team members to have died once during the Nyx Avatar fight, so their turns came after his. NA used Moonless gown and... well, Junpei managed to kill himself.
I always just go to rush when that happens. They never do much anyways.
I find that with most of the commands, they'll do what you want them to do. Sometimes Mitsuru is kind of dumb with Mind Charge on Full Assault, but for the most part they do what you tell them to do. Until you get to Heal/Support, where they just do the most idiotic things. It's hard for me to justify using Yukari and lolKen for bosses since everyone has to be on their last legs before they use party healing spells. Aigis is also pretty dumb with her buffs when she's on Support. And don't get started on when Yukari and Mitsuru get their break spells...
@phantasticgoose Yeah, my first time through, Junpei's turn somehow got sandwiched between both of Nyx's turns and was stayed there no matter how many time I revived him. He was killing himself every 2 or 3 turns.
well now in P3P they fixed that XD or rather "it's just like P4". still, i had no problem whatsoever in P3 and P3FES

Yeah, but thats exactly what you do, in the midst of a fight they wouldnt be able to micromanage every little move. There's be time for basic orders, which is what you have.
+John Adams The best compromise would be to let the player choose each team members' orders, between either stuff like "all out offensive" "Heal and buff" etc, or, Direct Commands. It would be ace to be able to do that for each specific party member, that way you could have Shinji and Koromaru on a vague command, and use Mitsuru on Direct Command, making her not use the same dumbass stupid move over and over. Would fix a lot of problems in general, would allow players that wanted to to keep that level of immersion, while some players that would want to command each party member to do their thing.

@fr801 yeah, P3P fixed a lot of things, it was too bad the overworld got sacrificed for it though. Really, we need a truly definitive version of Persona 3, I mean, currently you have to bounce between P3P and FES, as the features they added were exclusive to the respective versions. Imagine a P3 game on the Vita that included all the content from P3P, as well as all the content from FES, while keeping the overworld as well. It would be amazing. Also, I guess it varies from player to player, but my experience with Mitsuru was just terrible and for me her AI was really dumb, so I ended up using Ken, Koromaru, and Shinji as my go to team. Subbed in Aigis for Shinji towards the end.

@Seppiroth32 yeah but i'm one of those who wants to complete every version of new games. for example i played P3, P3FES and P3P lol i like to see the improvements, the differences, etc. (of course i still prefer P4 to the golden version because adding a new character kinda made the plot different)
@fr801 P3FES for me was my favourite persona game as it was challanging and the AI was moderately good.
The only reason 4 is harder is because 3's NG+ allowed you to carry level over.... but that's just my opinion.

Well, I wouldn't exactly call it a dating sim. In a dating sim the ultimate objective is usually to, you know, date a girl. In Persona you have to build your relationships with people to be able to fuse better Personas and stuff like that. Of course, once you build your relationship with a female character to its max limit, you get the chance to date her. But it's still just optional, and your relationships with the male characters are just as important.
Awesome, I've yet to play a Persona game... I know nothing about it except that it's a hardcore RPG date sims (not sure about that last one) and weird as hell from what I've heard and seen...
Really? I found P3 to be significantly more challenging than P4. Especially if you include The Answer from the FES version, which kicked my butt in eight different directions.

To be fair, all the full-moon bosses were easy, even on Hard. Late Tartarus bosses and The Answer are where AI controlled teammates start to be annoying.
This comment is so, so old, but I'm replying anyway. The full moon bosses were easier than the floor bosses because there were a ton of cutscenes before most of them without any save points, as well as other encounters. (For comparison's sake, not counting final bosses, P4 and, for the most part, P5 had nothing leading up to the boss.)

Tbh I think the AI controlled allies were fake difficulty, because the only reason any fight in P3 is "difficult," is because your allies would decide to make stupid decisions. And since we're on an Answer video, The Answer was also fake difficulty because all it did was just add an extra layer of RNG to the combat.
the only time when ai was an issue for me was whenever mitsuru would use marin karin in bosses which it clearly wasnt working on and nyx during moonless gown

Persona music is VERY hit or miss with me. Absolutely love this track with the funk guitar and drum pattern but I loathe Mass Destruction, garbage to my ears. I like it better it sticks closer too a funky, electronic sound then j-pop.
I actually bought FES some time after P4. I while I'll say it, I hate Persona 3 *flame sheild up* I do however like this song. One of the better battle themes from P3 and has had some AMAZING remixes (Just look at Persona 4 Arena :D) Shame that it was used during battles that were the very definition of jumping the shark for P3

Get it. It's really fun, and has an amazing story too. I felt the same way, but I bought the PSP version a week ago and I love it.
I know this is on the Playstation Store now, but I'm not sure if I should download it. I've just kind of ignored the Persona games, but I like a good RPG.
I got this on psn and I keep freezing at the same spot. I was enjoying what I played though

I bought the original and made it up to where the dog joins your party, then I got distracted by some other new releases. Got FES soon after it came out, but I still haven't gotten around to playing it...

This song is pretty much the only thing that made FES (The Answer) worth playing through.
Late upload since I just came home. I'm a big fan of most of Meguro's battle themes from the SMT series and this one is no exception. Powerful but with some beautiful melodies. I haven't played FES though, only the original Persona 3.
