Demon's Souls > Dark Souls
Beautiful. Easily one of the best ending themes ever. The AVGN used this song to great effect at the end of his Castlevania marathon.
Easily my favorite soundtrack ever. Megaman X is up there but this is still untouchable. I honestly don't think any game is comparable .
@SupraDarky If you just finished Dark Souls, why are you uploading a Castlevania track as opposed to a Dark Souls track
This game's music, and this track in particular, is so wonderfully nostalgic.
This soundtrack never ceases to astound me-all these years later I still get a little lump in my throat when I hear some of these tracks-this one in particular. Brilliance-thank god I was a gamer in the 90s.

@SupraDarky I think Dark Souls has equivalent experience as old school plus Metroidvania era. To think the game mostly required your skill and perception more than character's stats point like old school one. but the layout and non-linear exploring to find item and grinding sometime improve your chance to survive like Metroidvania. It's not so exaggerate to say Dark Souls is the new generation Castlevania. and the reboot Castlevania is somehow just a God of War Clone.
This game is within my top 5 all time fave SNES games.
this is the best castlevania that i have ever played, the music was fantastic and the ending theme gave you a sense of accomplishment, seriously. what a great game for its time, its so underrated
@pipedreamsam I find it very easy. Only died ~20 times. Maybe because I played Demons Souls so much but I was disappointed.
The very first time I ever finished this was during a live internet stream. That boss rush, at the end, was a pain in the butt and, I think, took me an hour just on it's own. Hearing this song was a grand reward for all that hardship!
@SupraDarky that feeling when you first beat SCIV and the credits start to roll, such an overwhelming feeling of accomplishment.

@SupraDarky Thats EXACTLY the way I feel about Dark Souls. I remember a while ago you posted the Great Grey Wolf Syf battle music and said you were gonna try it and somehow I knew you'd like it. Dark Souls reminds me of the great old Castlevania games because progressing through the game and finishing it is an achievment on its own, no need for fanfare, just you, your sword and shield against the world. I'm thankful that I still have this game and play it to this very day. Still one of my all time favorite games. It is hands down the best OST on the SNES in my opinion. It's a shame that we will never have a generation of games as great as the ones that were put out in the late 80's to early 90's...they will never be duplicated.
@dunder567 It's true I think the audience of today is full of youth who don't fully understand the complications of a game. Hence why we always hear five year olds who scream into there mics because of their fails. Games like Castlevaina and Dark souls show that you can make a game that teaches you more then frustrates you. I wasn't really a big fan of dark souls but I can say it did remind me of Castlevaina. In a good way.
@SupraDarky Perhaps you should put down the driver 3 theme, Dues Ex Human Revolution main theme and more Castlevaina themes. Another thing If the dark imersion is what you are looking for then there is a handful of games you should try out like Bioshock and all the Fallouts. I have to agree seeing dark tones in games has always made me appreciate the beauty of what developers can do. It is games like Castlecaina the really excel in bringing such dark prescience with little to no story.
Is it safe to say that this game has a flawless soundtrack?
@SupraDarky It's weird that you say that because I was just playing the original Castlevania and was thinking how similar it is to Dark Souls and Demon's Souls - especially the way both games encourage you to find effective solutions to beat the level design and learn from your mistakes. It's a shame they don't make many games that reach that level of challenge and satisfaction.

I finished Dark Souls an hour ago and it might end up being one of my favorite games of all time. I absolutely loved it. In a way, Dark Souls is the modern equivalent of the experience I had with the old school Castlevania games as a kid. Dark and gloomy atmosphere, alone against what seems insurmountable odds, and an awesome feeling of accomplishment when you succeed. I find this track fits perfectly that sense of accomplishment.
