Awesome game, its battle scheme is so much like final fantasy XII, loved to spend hours playing it!
I still think Fallout ripped the battle system off of Vagrant Story.

You can hear that the composer later worked with the music for FF12. It's almost scary.

I like how this battle theme just inspires you to get more into the battle and story of the game. If they only kept this kind a music going for the more younger consoles, video games, and continue it's epicness. I definitely appreciate what the sound engineers made here. ^_^

Love that theme so much. It's actually a pity how the official soundtrack CD has this track broken up in many small parts. I know it is in the game as well (as the intro track of course could take more or less time, depending if the player skips text, finishes the Wyvern battle more or less quickly and such), but on the OST it should have been as one single track as well additionally on it. Nevermind. Despite of the good reminiscence on VS, this could perfectly fit into some movies as well.
You can always tell if Sakimoto wrote it in the first few seconds of his compositions.
I love PSN for putting PS Classics like this on it. I missed so many gems as a child; glad I can still catch up

I had so many false starts with this game because of confusion with how stats worked on weapons. Finally, over ten years later when it got released on the psn, I beat it. Had to research the combat system just so I would have chance at beating it. After I thought I had my weapons pretty well upgraded the last boss was tough as nails. Glad I didn't use a walkthrough though because this game was very enjoyable after figuring out the battle system and playing it blind.
Please, please, please, please, PLEEEAASE, upload the end credits song "Phantom Pain". Your list is NOT complete without it...
My all time FAVORITE game!!! Lots of great music...loved how, the tone of the music, knew exactly when to change, right on que, as i read the text! Desperately needs a REMAKE...NOT a sequel.

I like video game music like this, it is suitably epic. ALSO FIRST.
It seems like my comments are making a chain reaction with my uploads. Well as you can see, this track is almost 12 minutes long. I hear you get an achievement when you listen to all of it. ;) Awesome progression and the part around 6:20 also plays during the Wyvern battle. Vagrant Story was a ground breaking game, I loved it. Very challenging too. I'm a fan of the pausable action-RPG battle system, also used in the first Parasite Eve.
