I never managed to end this game. I was always stuck in that desert where a little girl disappear, it's after Zue :( anyways, I might play it some other time, some games cannot be erased from our lives so easily haha
I don't know why exactly, but every little thing about this game just seemed to fall into place for me. One of my fave RPGs of all time :D

@heerogunkenobi My guess is because they released it so late into the lifespan of the SNES. Didn't Terranigma come out almost a year after the playstation had been introduced and that probably really hurt it's chances of being truly recognized. Plus, Final Fantasy was already an established series and the fact that this new addition to the series was taking such a big leap in design and graphics, as well as moving onto a new system probably really helped boost it's popularity.
Why this and Seiken Densetsu 3 (aka Secret of Mana 2) haven't been ported to NA is beyond me. They're two of the greatest action RPGs ever made.
It has that Chrono Trigger vibe...
@SuperFaex I replayed Soul Blazer last year that's why. I also loved it.
@SupraDarky What about Soulblazer? Like Terranigma is the spiritual successor to Illusion of Gaia (or Time as it is called in Europe), Illusion of Gaia is the spiritual successor to Soulblazer.
This is the most memorable game I played on the SNES. The story is much more engrossing than your average JRPG.
Sold my SNES, I wish this was on the Virtual Console. Was hoping for a surprise release last year, when they brought Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6. :(

North America got Chrono Trigger, Europe got Terranigma. Both games are awesome indeed. Since you're from NA, I understand why you uploaded so much songs from Chrono Trigger but only 4 of Terranigma^^ And like people already mentioned, this game gets melanchonical towards the end. After playing it for the first time I got a complete different feeling then after playing other rpgs
I've been waiting for this one! Here's hope you include another Terranigma track, "Resurrection." It's the song that plays when the continents are reforming.
@Terrakinetic You know what? You're right. . . The whole game is severely depressing to me. Well no, just the story is really sad. I've gotten pretty far in it before. Something happened and I couldn't finish the game. I don't finish a whole lot of RPGs. . . Something always distracts me away from it just long enough to forget about it and then something happens to the game's save or the game itself or the platform I'm playing on that I can't ever finish a single RPG. I am sadface at this.
How have I never heard of this before? This is gorgeous piece, would love to get my hands on the game...

@cb52211 I always forget Earthbound did relatively poorly when it first came out. Yeah, we really weren't prepared for great RPG's like Earthbound and this back then. Unfortunate. It took until FF7 before we were finally ready.

If I remember correctly, Europe got Terranigma, while North America got Chrono Trigger/Cross. Not that bad of a trade if you ask me. Especially considering, I just played Terranigma on emulator years later :p.
@SupraDarky It seems that most games that people want on the Virtual Console come from the Super Nintendo. But at least classics such as Final Fantasy VI and Chrono Trigger are on there.
Soul Blazer, Illusion Of Gaia, Terranigma. Most don't realize this is a trilogy set. And yet we only have 2/3 parts and what's debated to be the best part is the elusive. WHY U NO IN NA TERRANIGMA?

@SupraDarky the reason this game didn't get an american release back in the day was because Enix of america had shut down.
They should've given this a DS port like Chrono Trigger...oh well.

I'll have to replay both this game and Illusion of Gaia, it's been a while. It had some awesome graphics, music and gameplay, that and a memorable story. You really have to wonder why a game like this isnt on the Virtual Console. There's already an english translation since Europe got the game, unlike North America.
