I actually have to agree with this. There's a simple reason as to why people hate on GTA V. Because it's the newest installment. If they make a new GTA people will suddenly start bitching about that one too and how good GTA V was. It's exactly like the whole "Oh, 90's kids will remember..." Soon it'll be, and already is starting to be "What 00's kids will remember", then with '10's kids, '20's kids, '30's kids and so on. People hate anything that's new. Why? I have no fucking clue.

Game is dead, accept it and move on, surely gta iv was great, but that doesn't mean its in everyone's favourite.
IV is an amazing game but V is much better. Better gameplay, a lot of things to and a lot of features to do like golf, tennis and darts and also hunting, you could also ride a submarine and a blimp for the first time in GTA series, there's checkpoints every time you failed the mission in GTA v while IV doesn't have any checkpoints when you fail the mission you just start all over again and much more. It's my personal imo

In GTA 4 if an explosion goes off near you, your ears ring but that's not present in GTA V because there's simply only an explosion or if you're close enough, you just die

I think the developers might have been focusing more on the story which in a lot of cases when that happens they don't add some of the games mechanics.
I wish they brought back that feature that lets you pick up certain props.
People fucking hate gta v cause theres so much more to do in IV there are tons of enterable buildings in 4 there are cop quests when you get a cop car there are relationships there are realistic physics when you ram stuff there are cops with brains there are dlcs

If you use the subway on a daily basis, you will encounter some of the most disturbed individuals. Look up "Bloody Loco", "Crazy naked guy on the 6 Train", "Hipster girl gets put in her place. Gets yelled at and called Willy Wonka!! " you will see how dark life in New York City is.

GTA IV had the best attention to detail by far. The problem is they forgot to make a fun game attached to it. D= Seriously, GTAIV marked where driving and dicking around stopped being all that fun and started being kinda... tedious.
I loved 4 the most. This song takes me back to the midnight launch where my friend and I stayed up and played for hours. I couldn't stand San Andreas, but with VC and 4, it blended the story with the feel of the game to where I wanted to see what happened to the main characters. Nico was the first GTA character I sympathized with--as I ran over hookers and blew up helicopters.

While the stories and characters are fictional, the game is realistic. New York City (all five boroughs,) is as dark as the game plays it out to be. Within the maze of buildings is a city whose image crumbles past 110th st. Ride on the subways...you'll see.

It should be serious because Niko had hard chlidhood-1) had an abusive drunken father and her mother was sad as she didn't wanted him to grow in this harsh condition, 2)lost his all friends during the war in Yugoslavia (in Europe) and roman his cousin,her mother got raped and his life was not soooo good!

Ain't this actually the "main theme"? soviet connection? I also prefered GTA IV over the "III series", mainly because of the plot, the characters and the fact that the world feels so alive in comparison. Between the three GTA IV main themes, I prefer the one from The Lost and Damned. Still, good choice, though!

@nakamine1713 I disagree immensely, the size of San Andreas is what appeals to me so much. It's the same reason that I love Red Dead Redemption. You can just hop on a motorbike, turn on White Wedding and go flying across the state for a few hours and always find new things. GTAIV was just a bland, boring city. The gameplay was pretty solid and I liked the story, but the setting killed it for me.

Since you always had about 1 minute of loading before being able to play the game, this music got stuck in my head pretty quickly. A lot of people's favorite game in the series is either Vice City or San Andreas. While I think Vice City has the best setting, GTAIV is actually the one I liked the most. I've never finished the first three but with this game, I couldn't stop until it was over. I thought Niko Bellic was a refreshing character. This game is already 4 years old!
