What really gets me about Yormgen in the end is what the party experienced. The song's title implies it was a mirage created by Phaeroh, made to teach the party about the truth behind the clear ciel crystal, but the fact we could interact with the people there as well as the fact Yuefan mentions Longchi disappearing three years ago implies it was more akin to time travel. Of course, the mirage part makes sense since past Yormgen remains on the world map up until a certain point. Even to this day, I'm still not sure which it's supposed to be. The mysterious, peaceful, and melancholic tone of the music does add that mystery appeal of never knowing which it is though. It's been one of my favorite tracks since 2008. And hearing it again in the PS4 port reminds me why I fell in love with Vesperia's soundtrack.
The music here is incredible. The peace it brings to a crowded mind is perfect.

My bf had an interesting theory about this town. What if they went back in time due to Pheroh's influence to experience certain events in the past? Sounds a bit farfetched, I know, but I think it's a cool notion :3

Does anybody remember the story of yormgen? Like how it's a ghost town from the past and somehow it came alive... But that's not the whole of the story because I remember when I played this part there was like a captains log in a ship that told the whole tale. Thanks if any of you still know about this because this is what really really made me shiver and fall in love with this song even more.. <3
The peaceful village we saw the first time we visited was an illusion made by phaeroh. The village itself in present time has been destroyed hence duke said "this village has been granted eternal calm"

Yes this sounds calm but it kinda makes me feel a little different, hmm.. A bit like the past was difficult but the future is yet to come. Really an introspective kind of song for me

Ah Vesperia....The last tales game that gave me that feeling of "this is amazing". I'm hoping Zestiria can change that.
i'm playing Zestiria right now, it's really good, but Vesperia has a special place in heart.

@hxhshow9 zestiria is meh at best for me the story was meh and the gameply terrible it all amalgumated at using armatization to abuse elemental weaknesses spam that atack button or spam magic to again abuse elemental weaknesses

A sad, yet pure and serene theme. Gives a kinda nostalgic vibe from the old Tales, for some reason.
This game is so overlooked. This game is 20x better then Final Fantasy XIII. Sometimes, simpler is better square!

When I first heard this... I just wanted to stay in Yormgen forever...Yormgen is like Symphonia's Asgard for me.

I've only played four...Phantasia, Symphonia, Dawn of a New World and Vesperia...I adore the music in all games.
When I heard this, I really felt like playing tales of symphonia
I love how this reminds me of Mitsuda's work. A really haunting and atmospheric themes. Games need more themes like this, especially for enchanting areas.

@snowmandashdash It depends on what you mean by better and what your preferences are. Basically as Supra said, if you liked Symphonia, then chances are you are going to like this game.
Damn i don't have an xbox360 , but a least i'll get to play Graces F this year, I have only played Abyss for 8 hours so i'm a newbie to the series.

My friend practically forced me to borrow this game since he found out I hadn't played any of the Tales games. I should be getting close to finishing it. It's been an awesome game.

@Senjan they tried to play this kind of music once... it's just most people didn't know what really good music was... this is the perfect song to here on the radio on a lonely road trip... that's it Ive decided! there needs to be a video game music radio station with SupraDarky as the DJ! maybe then id actually use the cars radio!

@Bleachlover01 it wasn't THAT bad. i played it but i couldn't bring myself to finish it because i just wasn't into the monsters recruiting thing.
@Desma76X yes... this game i rented twice, first time i literally fell asleep playing this,, the second time i just played a few more hours and thought fck this i cant find any interest in continuing it. i really really dislike this game.. boring as hell the first 10-15 hrs at least.. this is coming from a big fan of Phantasia and Symphonia 1, and 2.
man i asked my family over in japan to get me the ps3 version of this but ended up getting tales of xillia instead lol. i do look forward to playing this game oneday though
@Desma76X Heard the game was...REALLY bad. I don't want to risk it, especially since it's a sequel. I rarely play sequels first. So, I'd rather just play a normal Tales game, maybe when I get a PS3 at some point.
Maybe it's just me, but i hear a little stickerbrush symphony in this song (between 1:25 1:50 especially) and . It's awesome.

For me Abyss and Symphonia are the best tales games. Sick story, great characters. I hope on day one of them gets a proper remake! 😁

I'm nearing the end of this game. I loved Symphonia so it's no surprise that I'm also really enjoying this one. I noticed this particular track as soon as I entered Yormgen, I find it really peaceful and you can instantly tell it's from Sakuraba.
Wow, so serene...so beautiful. I wish pure music like this would play on the Radio rather than the crap we actually get...
