Actually, no. Even though the majority of the older generations were, MLP:FiM was meant to me more of a show that people can find universally enjoyable, and in some of the later episodes, it's obvious that they're targeting adult males a bit more than kids.

The boss fight against Death is an ass even if you take no damage.

In any case, make sure you get a good deal of hearts in the segment leading up to the hallway. Otherwise you'll be screwed.
But even if you have the holy water, you'll be vulnerable to hits by the scythes. Another tip: The place in which you come off of the stairs won't leave you vulnerable to Medusa's. They'll go under you.

Works like a charm. The only problem is Death. Since you no longer have the holy water (picked up earlier in the stage), you'll be vulnerable.

Agreed. Although if you stand in the middle of the screen in the segment leading up to the boss and throw crosses, you won't get hit by Medusas.

Where's it at?
I somehow like this more than the two "iconic" Castlevania themes (Vampire Killer and Bloody Tears). It gives more of a feeling of a slow journey through a hostile land, whilst those two bring to mind a frantic battle to stay alive. Not that this level wasn't hard, though.
@SupraDarky look how weird, last night my brother and i were talking about that exact same thing, how we really like a truly from scratch HD Castlevania in 2D with those tracks just a bit arranged or as good as arranged as they are in Harmony of Despair. it would be nice, but i agree of what you say, a totally new 2D Castlevania not portable would be just great!

@SupraDarky There is Castlevania: Hamony of Despair on 360 and PS3 (released 1 year and 1 month ago, respectively), which is a great mashup of all Metroidvania, and is multiplayer. You gotta check it out! Soundtrack is amazing too! And don't forget going through a CV3-styled stage with Alucard dual-wielding Crissaegrims --> Pure Fun!

Ah, this one is good.. Good to hear something from Castlevania again and pretty good choice.
This track had the biggest impact on me playing CV1 as a kid. The level was perfect in difficulty, scenary, and music of course :) 0:33 - 0:57 = godlike epicness

@SupraDarky where's my 1999 Demon Castle War with Julius and Alucard? :( also a bit of interesting stuff: Heart of Fire was built in to Can't Wait Till Night on Aria of Sorrow, making it Julius Belmont's Theme, and it showed up in Harmony of Despair too (remixed)

Finally! This is my favourite song from the original Castlevania. I am very grateful they played this during the hardest part of the game. "You died, but you get to listen and get more comfortable with this music."

Stats Update: Castlevania, now at 3 tracks, is tied with fellow Castlevania game Symphony of the Night. It still ranks behind Curse of Darkness, Dawn of Sorrow, Portrait of Ruin and Super Castlevania IV.

A classic, just like most of the tracks Yamashita composed for this game. I also love Yamane's work, but I wish we could get a new 2D Castlevania with music made by Yamashita instead, just for a change. But at this point I wish we'd just get a new 2D Castlevania in the first place.
