The third day freaked me out a little, the first time I played. Played in a darkened room with surround sound. Moon coming and nothing you can do about it.

Loved this game, almost as much as Ocarina of Time. They really did a good job of raising the tension by making the music more sinister with each day.

one of the most underrated games ever. Majora and Ocarina are both in their own way, some of the best games of all time. Ocarina will always be my favorite for the impact it had on me when I first popped it in, but both games hold a special place in my heart.

@AkumaUchitoru It...grows on you eh? :D I love this game but it was really boring when I was still new to it. At that time I was constantly restarting the 3 day period and doing stuff I did last time like saving the monkey. Much better when you know what the events are and when to do them.

In some ways Majora's Mask was better than Ocarina of Time because of so many unique things there were to do as every form of Link. The variety of side quests was great as well. A funny thing involving this game was that my brother would joke around and call Clock Town "Clockton."
@SupraDarky It might happen too. There's an article on IGN where Eiji Aonuma says that a remake is possible if demand is high enough.
My top three Zelda games: Majora's Mask A Link to the Past Ocarina of Time (Would take 2nd if it weren't for the forced tutorials and Kaepora Gaebora)

yea the commonly chastised Zelda game...while I believe OoT, LttP, and TP are all superior, this is still one of the best games of all time
@balltavorb Yeah, I may just suck at NES games, but I couldn't even go past the first boss on Zelda II. And yea, Majora's IS more difficult than the other three. I concur.
Thanks for posting this, I think too many people give this game the shaft unfairly but I think it's the 3rd best Zelda game behind Ocarina and the original Zelda. Majora's Mask wasn't even included in Nintendo's E3 Zelda retrospective and this game wasn't on Virtual Console until May 2009 while the first 4 Zelda console gamers were on virtual console by June 2007.

@Pander8874 Sorry man. I don't know why. I guess the time limit, and the fact that I never got far is the reason why. I was so disappointed in this game. Zelda: Ocarina of Time, and indeed alot of other Zelda games are amongst my favourite games, and this is amongst the worst. Please excuse my pathetic way of expressing myself.
@dissident93 compared to OOT, Wind Waker, Twilight Princess etc, yeah it was really confusing and difficult. To be honest though, I never played the really old NES games (ie: the first 2). I've been told Link's Adventure is astronomically harder

@balltavorb Was it that hard? I found the NES games to be the hardest, myself. But then again, I didn't even know how to get out of Clock Town at first. ahahah
I had a love-hate relationship with this game. I hated it cause it was, well, REALLY hard compared to other zelda games. I loved it because of every other aspect of the game was fucking awesome

I really hope they bring it back, I really do. It was my favorite of the series thanks to the way they treated the NPCs. Really felt like you were savin' a world when all was said and done.
@SupraDarky Here's hoping they'll make a port for Majora's Mask next! Skyloft is supposedly going to be very much like Clock Town. A large amount memorable NPCs are always a good idea.

@assgoblin2damax Who could forget about a theme you had to hear the start of over and over? Especially with that hammer, :P. Anyway, this game is very unique from the others is that you had to help more people than in any other zelda game, you weren't just going around helping like it was practically nothing.

@assgoblin2damax I once listened to this song I fell asleep, by the time I woke up I saw everyone dying in a horrible fashion... then I fell back asleep.
I think the second day version is a little bit better because it's slightly faster.

When i 1st played this (a few years ago) i thought this tune was a remix of the Hyrule theme from Ocarina of Time. Later realized it wasn't so, but they have a similar, medieval sound

Let's see if Nintendo decides to release this game on the 3DS, hopefully they do. If I had to say one thing MM did very well, it's this main town. It felt very alive thanks to all of its people having their own unique scheduled activities and stories. The first time I heard this theme, it immediately reminded me of Suikoden II which I had just finished.
