It was definitely the best experience for me to play the Triology in Hypermode (hardest difficulty). MP2:Echoes seems much harder at first but in the end the final boss fight was manageable, unlike in MP3, which gave me nightmares and after countless tries I was still not able to kill that thing (there will be revenge!)
I like #2 as much as Prime #1, and 3: Corruption is my least fav of the 3, though it is still pretty good.

im glad echoes was bestowed the game of the year back in the days, even dark samus was honored to be the best villain. this game is truly a masterpiece and i will always remember this game by heart to the day i die. not a day has been passed do i not think about this game. Metroid prime gang or die!

2 was actually my favorate in a way. It's the most unique of the 3, and that's always a good mark for me.

its funny how the music feels so organic when running round in the Prime games, even though in real life the places would be silent....unless. Is Samus playing this music inside her visor??
DissociativeIdentity the trilogy loses much of its magic when you take the music away. I played a "realistic" playthrough with it all off, and I was very........bored. What makes this trilogy amazing is literally everything. You take one aspect away, and, you're left with a shell.
People always get so scared because the light/dark beams have ammo. They are very destructive weapons and the fact that you are hesitant to use them is a good indicator as to why you are struggling.
I see a lot of comments talking about the beam ammo system in this game. Not trying to sound arrogant, but I never had a problem keeping my ammo reserves at a comfortable level. I will say, though, I was a pack rat when it came to ammo the first time I played. I enjoyed the game infinitely more when I stopped being a pack rat and just used my light and dark beams as I needed them.
I played Prime 2 before either of the others, which is probably I think of it more positively than most people do. I enjoyed the challenge and I thought the dark world was a nice spin on things

It's unfortunate they took the route of beams with ammo, confusing not exactly coherent storyline that only has relation to the Metroid universe through the Galactic federation, Samus and Metroid prime herself...
That reason would be that Metroids of any kind scare all of us in the 3D games. Them and the Valhalla proved to me that I will never be able to play a horror game...
I found Prime 2 much harder than Prime 1. I say that because i haven't finished it, it's hard to replenish my light and dark beam, and for some reason, Dark Metroids freak me the hell out!
I had the same problem, after playing prime 1, this one seemed out of place with its ammo system. However biting through it with the support of a friend who is a major fan of the series, I found that the game is amazing in so many ways. He actualy convinced me to play the classics when i finished the trilogy. Long story short, I have played every single Metroid game I could find...
one thing i really like about the prime series, is that it has longer tracks, so you hear less repeating and more awesome music... makes things far less annoying

I blasted through this game really quickly in 2005. I can barely remember the music but I loved getting the spin jump finally. I remember struggling with some of the bosses and fetching different artifacts was not as fun as the first one. Still a great game. I got the trilogy for a friend and they never played it. I think I'll ask to borrow it.
I listen to that while cruising in a early, chilly morning through the dead silent Alps with sunrays hitting the snow from above.
I'd say that Metroid 2 and Echoes would be tied for that. I honestly don't get why people are in love with corruption, but that's just me. It was so much more linear compared to 1 and 2, and and felt more robotic in atmosphere and the ending was lame.

And me sitting here without my Wii. Oh, my God, I love Metroid Prime...

@Exarian it feels like evry drop of rain is making each and evry echo noise, almost like at the start the cloud is forming, then it lets out. each time a raindrop hits the ground, or your window, it creates a noise. then the combined noises seem so..... magical... almost like a rain sleep spell when you think about it.

It seems I am the only one who thought the dark world was cooler without the Dark Suit. Hard, but I loved running from beacon to beacon.

@Masz52 I try to 100% everything, not to mention I count the moments I spend taking in the scenery,. I found this one harder though, and my scenic routes would take twice as long due to the forementioned problems with the game. It's also due to the fact I really had to push myself to play this one, I sadly just, I wanted to like it but frankly this game just was not my cup of tea. Compared to Prime 1, this just saddened me.
At least Torvus Bog has good music, because it's hell for about half the time you're there until you get the Gravity Boost.

It's funny. I don't like Prime 2 that much when I compare it to Prime and Prime 3, but it's still got this place in gaming history for me. It was the game I never finished for a long while, because I thought it was too hard. Then I came back at it later and learned to stop being such a stick in the mud with my light and dark beams, and the game just opened up. This song is probably an explanation as to how the game makes me feel. Ominous, yet relaxing. It reassures you, even when you're afraid.
it may not be as good as the first prime but damn, i love this game. the atmosphere was awesome.
my favourite song from Prime 2, it's amazing, relaxing and so atmospheric. I would purposely wander around this area for no reason except to listen to this song.

I didn't like Prime 2 as much as Prime. The whole light/dark thing just came off as tedious and annoying to me. The music was a high point though.
I find this funny. I love the music but as this is very much ambient music, it can trace its lineage all the way back to composer Erik Satie in the nineteenth century. sure it's much more electronic and modern, but the ambient music school of composition can easily be traced back to him.

@Arc13 It really took you 30 hours to finish this? Not trying to knock you or anything, I'm just surprised if that's true. Metroid games are rather short.
@alasanof dw that boss owns everyone, just keep trying, youl get the hang of dodging its attacks, its easly the hardest boss in the game in terms of the stuff you have when you go against it took me about a week to beat it, just keep trying (BTW thats a week of trying getting frustrated and giving up for the day, not playing constantly lol)

This game is pretty good. But to be honest, I enjoyed the first one a lot more. For one, I never beat this game. I got stuck on the Dark World boss that is basically a ball and you have to fight it as a morph ball (soooo hard!). But yeah, the first one is superior in environment/ambiance and music. I have yet to play the 3rd one, but I really would like to someday.
This game would've been better if it actually let you explore the world and play the actual game without burning to death 90% of the time. I mean yes they fixed the problem, but only in the literal last hour out of 30 hours.
Damn those fucking Grenchlers, ESPECIALLY the dark ones. Honestly Torvus was right up there with Sanctuary, can't deny that.
Haha, great timing, I was just playing my hard mode run of this game. (Well, second attempt at it anyway, my first got lost due to memory card corruption before I could finish it) I've really grown to appreciate MP2's music lately. When playing the game it was just background noise to me, but I really like it now that I've stopped to really listen to it.
So many memories, I felt so il-at-ease playing this game knowing somewhere, something was coming for me and I couldn't run from it. beautiful music, wonderful game.
This level made me rage so much D: Agon Wastes and the Sanctuary were a breeze compared to this.
I think this is as far as I got before I decided I didn't want to waste my time playing this subpar game.
I actually just finished watching a Let's Play of this, actually. slowbeef's, to be precise. He HATED Torvus Bog. |D Never brought up the music, though.
The game as a whole wasn't great, it detracted way too far from the original, but it did have some great songs like the first one did. This one definitely being the best song in the game, if only they replaced the dark world with more light world areas... imagine how the game could be twice as big. All that being said, this game is annoying at best. Metroid Prime 1 was a masterpiece, Metroid Prime 2 was annoying and frustrating, and Metroid Prime 3 was good but way too easy and short.
My favorite track of MP2. Remember taking the long way just to hear the song near the end of the game :-D
I was pretty edgy playing through this when I was younger, but when I got here the song calmed me down.

Probably my favorite place in the game with the Sanctuary. Coupled with this ambient track, the area was very atmospheric. I should replay this game someday, it feels like I went through it too quickly. It had some pretty awesome boss fights, but I remember not being a fan of the dark/light world gameplay, at least until you get a certain suit.
