ahhh this takes me back. I still own my xbox copy of Soul Calibur 2 (with Spawn in it as an exclusive character) I would boot that old girl up right on my Xbox 360 but the disc is cracked. I heard that Soul Calibur 2 has a HD port on XBL and PSN. I might just purchase that port.

Yes, this is the true Nightmare. You can feel from the tone in his voice, he is serious. Sc3 voice sounded a little too forced, and SC4 sucked with that shitty ghoul-voice like effect.

the latest version is just a overpowered ass. Siegfried and nightmare suppose to be equal but they made him invincible on V. V just killed it for me everything is so complicated and the new characters are annoying & weak except for xiba and natsu. Asaroth have a spamming ass hole move that u can do forever when he gets in u in the ground and pick u up again like a never ending cycle

@Kain Bastien they have a mode in which u literally have to face the main protagonists and antagonists fo the series and they fight like Gods and dont let u get up at all. Kilik is the first and he knows every male character moves. Its like wtf they was thinking

This version of Nightmare is still one of my favorite video game characters of all time! Siegfried and the Soul Edge are like that couple you keep hoping will get back together... except they're a burly knightman and an angry demon sword!

@Jose Jurado This Nightmare is Siegfried. Something happend in one of the earlier games and this happend to Siegfried. He became Nightmare. Or at least he shares his body. Nightmare didn't have a mother to start with.

Agreed. I prefer its design for still retaining some sense of human element, while the newer ones just look like monsters made of armor with metal unicorn horns which really damage the intimidation factor and general design.

I can't remember. But Soul Calibur 2 HD Online will be release this fall on XLA and PSN. Unfortunatly no Wii U release was announced, marking maybe that also Namco Bandai has give up on Wii U... :(
With the announce of Soul Calibur 2 HD Remix we have finally the proof that also Namco is aware that SC2 was THE MASTERPIECE in the 3D fighting genre!
This is the coolest and most Iconic Nightmare is ever going to look in my opinion. And SC2 is the best in fluent control. I can pull off moves more easier than the ones that go after it. SCV is just button mashy

I play this whenever I use Siegfried (after he is nightmare) in the other SC games.
I honestly thought SCII's VAing was sort of derpy and over the top, though the random combinations of quotes can make some pretty epic comebacks sometimes. Then again, I've really only played SCII for any longer than a few minutes, so I guess it might just be the lesser of multiple evils.

This Sole Music has made me want to thrive since it came out. I used to be fat, I was not good drawing, and many other things.. Ive kept this feeling of wanting to be More!.. Just like Nightmare.. Now I have a freaking 8 pack, and Im a Great Artist Its been thanks to This music, haha its been YEARS. and still every time I hear it.. Chills go through my spine. And I want MORE.

In SCV It's a new Nightmare, since both of them appear. Nightmares Stronger, but slower and doesn't attack as fast (Thank lord) as siegfried, who can slap you with the Requiem like a bitch.

I know I'm responding to a really old comment here, but Soul Calibur Legends is non-canon, so the events of its story didn't actually take place in the true storyline of the Soul series.

@SupraDarky Only reason I'll say it's a huge shame you missed IV is that one of my favorite game music pieces is from IV. Check out the credits music from IV, it's incredible. The finale to it is perhaps the best classical finale I've ever heard.

Nightmare, Siegfred. The eternal battle.^^ Then again, Soul Blade started it with the sword alone but then it grew from SB to SC. Storywise it's not as meager as people think.
I hear a mixture of remixed Castlevania themes and Imperial March. That being said, my music libraries don't contain enough epic music to make worthy comparisons. Although I think some Brawl themes were re-orchestrated in a similar way...

SC series are awesome, i have all 4 games and III is my favorite and the baddest yes, its IV, its not a bad game, but compared III and II... i prefer III... yeah i look forward for SC V, can´t wait!

That game was so amazing it was the SC game I played the most. I miss it perhaps I will get another copy for my Ps2...
@kyo1546 Chronicles of the sword... I played that mode FAR too much. It's one of the few times I've played a game until I literally passed out. I fell asleep controller in hand and then my brother woke up and was shocked to find me sitting sound asleep in gaming position in front of the TV. I never fell asleep at a console game before or since, probably because I rarely played a game so long into the night... Character creation was that game's best feature, methinks.

@Tavanasmuse Chronicles of the Sword was an amazing game type I loved the strategy that semi went into it. I remember playing it for hours on end trying to beat the game. Then getting to the end and everything getting so intense I simply couldn't put down my controller and walk away.

I personally think that the entire SC soundtrack is underrated.
Even though SC2 was excellent, nothing can beat Soul Blade in my heart (Soul Calibur 0.5 if you want). That was a blast to play back in the days!

SC 2 is the best in the soul series. And has the best overall soundtrack. I played it soo much in the arcade before and on gamecube (best version) after. Today is still a must purchase for Wii owners! With an adaptor for use an Playstation Arcade stick, of course :)
Love this song! SC2 MIGHT be my fave, but SC4 is the only one I can say I really learned to play. I loved SC2s music, Link, and wall moves. I love SC4s create a character and online!

SCII dominates the series. I personally didn't see IV as THAT bad. Compared to the others yes, it can't compare, but the character creator was done very well(hell, the sole reason I bought it). Not to mentuion always nice to see console exclusives(partly what makes SCII the best in the series, having those console exclusives). I'd like to see something like that for V(that actually makes sense like Link did or Lloyd or the Tekken guy, not Star Wars, wherever they got that crazy idea).
Soul Caliber is okay., Soul Blade however, is a masterpiece(Just listen to the intro is good enough to make you smile.)
Soul Calibur 2 has always been my favorite of the series. Nightmare was my guy in that game (along with Ivy as my secondary). I thought the gameplay just kind of went downhill with Soul Calibur 3 and 4. Plus they totally changed Nightmare since they brought back Seigfried (Because they split Nightmares moves between the two and gave them each some BS new moves that suck). It would be really nice if Soul Calibur 5 is exceptionally better than 3 or 4.

Soul Calibur III's soundtrack is one of my favorite of all time. And it's production value seems so much stronger than IV's, even given their graphical difference. Especially the voice acting.

@LooneyTunesFan80 Yeah. I found it way better. Characters were more balanced (Well, more balanced than Yoda and Starkiller), story mode was more fleshed out, more weapons for the characters, I could go on for eons.

@KizukuKanshi My opinion exactly. Except that I prefer sheer gameplay over variety of features, so I prefer SCII among every other one. I'm very afraid of what we will receive of the fifth edition...even Broken Sword managed to sink lower than SCIV in the same regards...
I have all version of Soul Calibur 3 to see which one of the special characters plays better. Link was more well rounded, Spawn was just power, but sucked, but I think Heihachi was the best IMHO. That, and fighting people with swords, axes, staves, and whatnot with JUST YOUR FISTS is ballsy! Anyway, I liked NIghtmare's music (and him as well, since I ciould play Nightmare/Seigfried well), but I also liked Maxi's theme, too.
I want another chronicles of the sword for SC V that mode was epic when i was young :D

You did it!!!! OMG you did it! Your series now includes pretty much all of my favorite games. And of course, some I've never even heard of. Soul Cal II was easily the best fighter game of the GCN/PS2/XBOX generation.

great pick of an amazing game. soul calibur 2 is IMO the best soul game. The controls on the gamecube controller fit so comfortably well. The buttons on the gamecube controller where closer together so you can use multi button combos easier and at a much more effiecient and faster rate at using them. The A button was great for a slash like button. The load times on the GCN is much more faster than the other 2 versions. there are many more reasons, and dont 4get LINK! GCN Version > All Other 1's

I thought IV wasn't bad but they could have put some effort into content for that game,it felt a bit lackluster
Only thing that had me keep playing IV was the customization...and even that was lacking big time. Hopefully V blows me away with customization options for existing and custom fighters. Including some different, blank slate fighting styles like in 3 along with being able to make a fighter based on existing fighter's styles.

@SupraDarky Can't blame you for skipping IV, really. The gameplay is sluggish compared to the previous ones. III is my favorite, followed very very closely by 2. There's no beating the gameplay in 2, but there's a whole lot of content in III that kept me playing for quite some time. IV just didn't compare in that regard. Nice graphics and it's nice that they added online play, (enough replayability for some people in that fact alone,) but I don't like that they sacrificed that for offline stuff.

Soul Calibur V's been announced, I'm looking forward to it since I skipped IV. This game was pretty awesome, I had the Gamecube version with Link. I've always been a fan of Nightmare's theme, powerful theme but it still has that nice calmer part.
