Holy shit this game gave me thumb aches from pressing the fire button. Unbelievably bland game play, and I also did not understand anything about the story until the end. It... looked pretty nice, I guess?

Well to be fair, 3rd Birthday isn't a BAD game, and it has some great music. It's just not what we wanted from a third Parasite Eve game, pretty much. It's one of those games where if it had just been released as it's own IP it would have been far better I feel.

@Neuf8 No, its absolutely terrible and is an affront to the series and Aya as character. You're much better off getting 1 and 2 from PSN. and ignoring Third Birthday entirely.

@infinityofgenesis I pretty much went through the game not understanding the plot at all. That is, until the end when it was all revealed. I never played the original Parasite Eve games, but if I can find them, I'll give them a shot.
@AkumaUchitoru This may be a bit late, but this game doesn't really play or feel like it's earlier games. Square dropped the ball with this one.
@FruggleFarkle123 Or learn to have effective use of Overdiving. Honestly as much as I liked the gameplay the bad storytelling couldn't save it.
I wish more games were like this one. Even on a Normal difficulty, you will find yourself retrying levels a lot on the account of dying. You have to strategize which enemies to take down first and which weapons you will use on each one. Knowing me, I probably won't do a second play through so soon after the first, but I bet I will return to it very soon.
Now why would Aya want to make the 3rd birthday her first deathday?

Yep. Whatever they say, its an amazing series.
From what I've heard, they changed Aya's personality for the worse. Apparenlty she acts more like some sort of sterotype japanese schoolgirl sometimes, rather than acting like a strong, independent woman . Shame.

Music for this series has always been solid. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the gameplay. I hated 1, but at least 2 was enjoyable. Too bad I don't plan on getting a PSP, or else I'd play this one.
@SupraDarky This track is certainly good, but how would you say the music of the whole game is, compared to the previous games' soundtracks?

This game ruins the entire series. Just like the about release Resident Evil. I mean what's wrong with the old school game style? Why do they have to be in full 3D =.=
Supra, you should check out Mileenas theme from MK9 which just came out. All of the character themes from the game are great really, but hers is like dark and stripper esque. ❤
A lot of people have been downing this game without even playing it because it's not like the other games. You keep the system the same and prople gripe that you aren't being original; you change things up, and people gripe that the old system was better. Just can't win these days. Oh well, the music sounds fine to me, but I haven't played it yet, so I will wait til then to pass judgement.
@SupraDarky I heard a review say it wasn't as good, even with the music. What would you say about the music?

So many games, so little... Oh wait, I already said that ! Still applies here. I've heard good and bad things about this game but I'm really curious to play it since I'm a fan of this series. I actually played PE2 for the first time about a year ago.
