I haven't play the SNES version (didn't have one at the time); I played the 'remaster' PSP version; Dracula was actually easier for me, but then, It's hard to compare the difficulty I face as a child and the one I'm facing now as a grown up :P (also: it took me quite a while to find the trick for the NES version, once discovered, it was a lot easier -- I didn't find any particular trick on Dracula X other than learning his attack patterns)
The only CV game which made me go "FUCK FUCK FUCK" is Castlevania 3's clock fucking tower... FUCK THAT Level!

You dont NEED the holy water, its the easiest way yeah...I spent FOREVER trying to make it to frankenstein without losing the holy water, finally i just said fuck it and when it without it. It is a good idea not to go without full life though. if you have a full life bar just spam the shit out of him with whatever sub weapon you got.

No, first it's Leon, Trevor, Christopher, Simon, Juste, and Ritcher, and Julius. Sonia was counted after Leon and before Trevor until "Koji Igarashi" (frnachise's producer) official removed Castlevania Legends (Game Boy) off of the timeline.

To clue you in, but you'll notice that CotM takes place during a period WITH no Belmonts present. Other badasses can kill Dracula using a piece of rope that aren't Belmonts, you know.
I like both. Sometime games are more for shojo style. Castlevania are really good with both type of art though. (Open you mind ^^)

Alas, much as I love the first GBA game (Circle of the Moon), it is officially a "gaiden" game, a side-story which may or may not tie in with the "real" game universe. An example of the same concept, albeit as an anime OSV rather than a game, would be "Tenchi in Tokyo" as opposed to the original "Tenchi Muyo" series. KONAMI has confirmed, at the very least, that the Baldwins\Graves are in no way tied to the Belmont clan (the whip wielded is not Vampire Killer for one). Sorry to disappoint... :/

I think the reason the Castlevania heroes have transitioned from barbaric to gothic can mainly be attributed to when the games were made; back in the 80's, buff action heroes were it. they were what was popular. however, as games came into their own and the art style of the games was more focused on, the characters became more fitting to their enviroment and game, and now we have the more gothic, noblemen characters in recent Castlevania games. but, as always, SIMON FTW!!

Yes, that's true. But there are some guidelines to follow: melodic line, chord succession, arrangement, etc.. There a lot of more "complex" songs which use dominant's dominant chord, major tonic, key changes, etc.. This song is well arranged and sounds nice, but it's quite simple. Its chord succession Dm Bb Dm Bb -- C D C D -- Dm C Bb A - Dm C Bb A...
It is NOT one of the best Castlevania songs. It's very good, I won't deny that, but there are more than 50 better songs from other Castlevania games. I'm a really big fan of the saga. I have played every game, own every soundtrack and know the name of every single track of every game.
