@VGKing You could launch them or drop them. In the picture the banana peel is coming from the left (evidenced by bouncing line that follows it). Also, now that I look at it, I think DK threw the red shell and hit Bowser in the head. REALLY @_@
@VGKing you can launch the banana by holding up on the controller pad while using the item. Also can use turtles shells on your back if you hold down.
@VGKing Ah but the banana peel is coming in from the left, where as Mario is in front of them all. That is unless Mario tossed the peel ALL THE WAY AROUND THE WORLD from right. PLOT THICKENS
I used to suck balls at this game, but I didn't care. I still enjoyed playing it with my dad.
Ya guys Bowser is the one getting hit with the red shell, not DK. Thats why Bowser is holding his head......
I just got hit in the face by nostalgia with the force of a Blue Shell.
@VGKing i think it might be the red shell recoilling off of Bowser, seeing as he's clutching his head in pain, but thats just my guess :)

I remember first trying bowser and him being too damn slow, so I went with the koopa troopa. The later games added Bowser Jr so that worked out.

This is one of the games I played the most in my entire life. And it happens that Koopa Beach 1 is the track I played the most (in time trial). I'm not a fan of that kind of song in general, but I heard it so much that I couldn't help but develop a special liking to this particular song. It's just awesome, and filled with memories.
@saurfan Red shells cannot be thrown backwards in this game. Green shells cannot either (they are simply deposited on the ground when used while holding "down").

@SupraDarky Your dream sounded weird/awesome lol I have pretty much the same story though(Except the dream lol) Me and my bro played this when we were younger, and Koopa was my character as well, how I loved the Koopa XD Him and Toad :3 And you've inspired me Supra! Koopa was my character of choice in this game. I played this game a lot with my brother, pretty much until we got Mario Kart 64. I remember as kid I had a dream where I had my own kart and I'd drive around the world. Then I saw a rainbow and I tried driving on it (like the Rainbow Road) but it completely failed and I ended up crashing on a tree. That dream was... weird.
