This song always gives me chills. So many hours spent in that forest, just amazed as I listened to it. This is the kind of music you have to listen to with a surround setup. Headphones just don't do it justice. And you need the version with the birds too.
Early game - Watch out for werewolves! Late game - Let's look for more werewolves!

+Stuballs I'll second that. One that has the magic and charm of the first game. With Level 5 gaining mainstream success globally now there's really no excuse to stifle such a creative and innovative series such as this one.
I couldn't finish Dark Cloud because I was not prepared for the final boss fight...leveling one-two characters only and all that. The game's charm is awesome though, besides the soundtrack. I need to play it again. :D

This is one my favorite games from ps2 along with kingdom hearts. I wish they make one for the next gen consoles or at least remake them with HD.
This is one of the best series I've played, hands-down. An action RPG mixed in with a building sim. It's a wonderful feeling going through a town that was all but destroyed when you got there and seeing it slowly recover by your own hand.

i hope the ps vita has a ps2 emulator and lets me download this for my vita.

@Bananas1000 If im correct, this is the PAL version of the soundtrack, so its not exactly the same sound.

@MattAlchemy yes try it, I love this one of all the series. lol only two tho. u can build ur weapons and u can build ur own environment. great nature and nice music, ur parents would be at ease....i hope..lol
I want part 3 in PS3 so bad...the graphics in ps3 would make this game really really great...but remember if any of the ppl working in the industry read this (tho i highly doubt) that this game has always been simple, but really enjoying, with great music and an appreciation to nature. Last but most important, the ability to do your own things (building houses, allocating them, weapons upgrade, etc.).

Dark Chronical has to be, I think anyway, the greatest example of gameplay improvements through a sequel. Dark Cloud was great, but there were a lot of bad design choices when making it. Weapons take damage if you're blocking? You get thirsty in dungeons? If a weapon breaks it's gone forever? And there were just too many characters, really. Too many weapons to juggle.

Level 5 might make Dark Cloud 3 if enough people request it. They said so at TGS09 I just hope it continues Dark Cloud 1's story and not Chronicle/2

I wouldn't say every song is epic... Black Shadows among others is noticeably more "midi-like" compared to an inspired song like The Demon Shaft, Owl Forest, Sinking Ship, and Corridor of Time

it was plenty popular... became a greatest hit for the PS2 in record time... FFX was quick to surpass it though...
There are very few soundtracks that can compete, as a whole, with the soundtracks of dark cloud 1&2. They just have so much variety and they always manage to capture the mood perfectly.
Level 5 always had a way of using music to set the setting. I noticed it in both DC1 & DC2.
omg now i remember that game i played it every time ( just the 1 hour demo dam it xD ) the idea is very funny build your " own town "
This is the kind of game you'd have sleepovers just to play - I should've just gotten a PS2 way earlier; would've saved me a lot of trouble.
Definitely the most fun RPG series out there. This is probably my favourite song from both games, though.
same here i love the game as well but i think dark chronicle/Dark cloud 2 is just that tiny bit better

This is probably my favorite dungeon track in this game. I posted a few Dark Cloud tracks myself. I'm definitely adding this to my playlist.
Yeah I'd say it's a Dungeon Crawling Action RPG. :P It's a first generation PS2 game so it's pretty old now, but there's also Dark Cloud 2 which is very good as well. Both great games.
