The only thing that I didn't like about this song was how rewarding it made beating the game feel, even though most of DS is piss easy.
The CO power change was an attempt at making them not so unbalanced (and also to just distinguish DoR from the the previous games). It wasn't a bad game though nor would I say it ruined AW. It's not like we can't have both DoR style universes and the standard wacky one too. But then again, Nintendo hasn't made a new AW game in a while....
The standard Advance Wars setting doesn't hold up to gritty realism and angst. That's why they made a new universe for it with DoR. It seems you just prefer the standard wacky style.

I love everything about Advance Wars
The Advance Wars has great character themes as well. Especially Grit's Theme is burned into my brain because I used him so much ;)

I wasn't expecting to find anyone else. The winding "ah"s and wide open backgrounds are so Origa. AW crossed with GitS is the Days of Ruin that I'd have WANTED to see, if they wanted a serious theme...
I personally couldn't stand Days of Ruin. It's tone was so unnecessarily dark and serious. The Advance Wars setting just doesn't hold up well to gritty realism and angst.

@SupraDarky yeah i thought the same and desire days of ruin as well. come to think of it, the world ends with you has great souding audio as well. and come to think of that, kingdom hearts chain of memories for the gba had a great closing film.
@SupraDarky You should hear the opening of Luminous Arc. With headphones in, sounds just like any other piece of music you'd hear on the computer quality wise. It's fantastic lol
Holy crap, starts out sounding kind of grindy and unpleasant but after a little wait it becomes EPIC.

@SupraDarky Days of Ruin is my favorite Advance Wars. Play it with headphones though. It sounds like garbage on speakers.
@vbhalo Besides the gritty overtone, the gameplay was changed up. The concept of CO powers were thrown out the window to make it so that their commanders can give a mild power up to surrounding units. It's generally a bad idea to change gameplay mechanics that made the game series enjoyable..
@AsaLothario may i ask how the game sets a more real tone to the whole thing hopefully nintendo will keep the 2 game types diffrent one dark and one light like dual strike

alright, good song. But Sturm's or Drake's themes are definitely way more memorable than this.

Hah! Great choice! I also went to the music room and listened to some songs to get a better feel of how they were without all the puzzling going on. And yes, this was one of them I left on while I was sleeping.
Things I love bout Days of Ruins is the online, and the fact you can modify the size of your field in Design. Also you can board your CO on units to get more power, and idk. Days of Ruins is worth a try, just don't expect more than Dual Strike.
I agree with the others, Days of Ruin is my favorite of the bunch. Couldn't put it down when I started. This one was fun though.

@SupraDarky Days of Ruin takes away so much from the gameplay. It adds a few different things, but Dual Strike will always be one of my favourite AW games.
@SupraDarky You REALLY should. I love it above the rest because the naval battles are INSANE fun in that game. Plus the units feel much more balanced this time around (in AWDS getting the megatank was an instant victory, likewise AWBHR with the Neotanks)
@Masz52 Alright, I shouldn't have said that. All i want is for Nintendo to make another Advance Wars game that brings back all the old characters. Days of Ruin was fine, just it took a little time to get used to, as i'm a big Advance Wars fan.
@omnislash14 Because they changed the art style it's not an Advance Wars game? I guess Team Fortress 2 isn't a Team Fortress game then? And Wind Waker's not a Zelda game?
I always thought this song was weird but cool. On Days of Ruin vs Dual Strike, I like DoR more. With Dual Strike, it felt like it was just a race to get your Dual Strike activated.
I also wish Nintendo will make a 4th Advance Wars game. I don't count Days of Ruin, because it doesn't have the same feel that the other 3 did, mainly because it got rid of the cuteness.

The thing I always loved about Advance War musics was it's reliance on character themes. All of those themes are unique and you instantly recognize them. More soundtracks need to do that. This song is awesome by the way.

I remember the first time I heard this I was quite impressed by the sound quality the DS could provide. I really liked this game, I should try Days of Ruin someday.
