After playing FF7 and 8, Suikoden, and other PS1 rpg's, this soundtrack was always really unique to me. I still can't explain why. It's very alien. Which would make sense if you pick Claude and end up on an alien planet.
This track kinda reminds me of The 7th Saga.
i remember once when i was little, my brother used to played this game, but didnt like it much and i remembered him going to salva and hearing this music, so one day i started a new game just to get there and hear this music :P

ya know its kinda funny i went to the mall to find the ps1 game Lunar Silver Star Story and I asked the guy at the counter if they had it he said well we have this game and he showed me Star Ocean I looked at it and got the feeling that it might be good and i got it and was just blown away from how awsome it was

@SupraDarky I can't agree more. You always put up awesome tracks and I especially get excited when I see you put up a new SO2 vid. This game just has it all.
I really want to replay this game, but I can't bring myself to do it when I know that the PSP version is superior and someday I'd like to play that one, so I don't want to spoil myself by replaying it before I play the PSP one. Arg!

@mastergame5 I only intended 2. I'm impressed if you can find more. In more sensible terms I like this piece, but I will always find the golden sun soundtrack better. It's so edgy and sharply composed.
@SupraDarky Same, I wish for other RPGs to have something even close to the Great game that is Star Ocean 2. The Story, the sidequests, the personas(Although Noel could've improved.), the 2 worlds etc etc. It was a great game, and very few can even get close.

@SupraDarky i remember this because one time i had to just let it sit there so i could eat food and do some other things, and i remember that i didn't touch it for like 2 hours and this music was playing the whole time, it filled the house haha good music

This is probably my favorite Sakuraba soundtrack. There's just something magical and enchanting about this game, and the music is part of the reasy why. Full of reverb, great instrument choices, memorable melodies. If I had to name games that defined my gaming childhood, Star Ocean 2 would get a mention.
