I'm not sure what it is exactly, but this makes me think of Vega's theme from Street Fighter II

This is one of my favorite pokemon songs ever. Nothing has yet to make the climb to the Elite 4 more epic than this song. Especially since you head there, knowing that you're about to face N and the fate of trainers everywhere is on the line...God I love this song.
Reminds me of Dark Chronicle. Very nice track.

siestoman you can still hear it its inside a house on the southeastern side of iccarus city you can only enter the house when it is winter though so only april, august and december and you must talk to one of the npcs inside that house
after what happen between N and Team Plasma, my heart suddenly beating so fast when I enter this route.
3rd gen :D, my opinion at least, doesn't matter really, every gen has amazing music...Route 11 Kanto, Dark Cave, Regi trio, Route 216, Driftveil City, just naming one of many great songs from each gen

You done the battle subway? Same deal. With each new car, another sound is added. It starts off as merely the repeating noise of motion over rails.
It reminds some people of "Run, My Dog, Run!" from Mother 3.

I walked this route for an hour before remembering the elite four.
First this nostalgic music, later the awesome Badge check gates, each gate adds an instrument, after the Legend Badge, the Victory Road theme is complete, traverse it and then challenge the E4, with awesome music too, and the rising Plasma Castle 5th Gen is EPIC

For some reason, this track kinda reminds me of Naruto Shippuden and another game, wich i can't remember, for some reason.
@GameMasterR5 well yeah N's Farewell has the first 5 notes of the Mother 3 Love Theme, and some of the Pokemon resemble chimeras.
@DissociativeIdentity some people believe it sounds like Mother 3's "Run, My Dog, Run!" (when Boney fetches Duster)

This track reminds you what you have done, witnessed, and experienced in the past time. This sums it up all together to prepare for the final battle you do not even know of. Now in the Elite class, you remember your days when you were just a beginner. Now this.

This song still never overstayed its welcome during my final level grind before Victory Road and the first Elite Four. And I trained my Pokemon from level 40 to level 70.
This is my favourite Pokemon game after GSC. They really did well with this one.

@AnimalCrossingMega12 Nah, but a lot of Mother/Pokemon music sounds similar. It may be because of APE/Creatures Inc connections, or someone was just a fan of the Mother series!

@BronzeGrowlithe Yeah, but I didn't know that Unova was far enough on its own to have the routes restarted. Confusing geography and junk.
@HeyItsCheezy Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh are all based off different regions of Japan (East West South and North). Unova is based off the boroughs of NYC, including Liberty Island.
I absolutely loved this theme when I first heard it. I didn't have a choice but to plug my DS into my guitar amp and turn it all the way up ;)

Amazing theme. I bought this game with some of my Birthday money, the version that I got is "White".
There are plenty freaking more songs that I like from this game. That surprised me, I haven't truly liked a majority of a pokemon game's music since Gold.

I'm not going to listen to this theme. I listened to the entire score of D/P long before they were released, loved the themes, and bought Pearl months later. But that also mademost of the music sound too general too early on. So I think it's better to save the treasured first moments of hearing a lovely theme to the moments of actual gameplay. That's what game memories are made of.

@IntenslyStupid yes but why take a risk and grow up when it's still a leading franchise by being what it is. The new generation still knows and loves pokemon . . . they dont know how it started or it's history but they love it nonetheless.

It would be good for the Pokemon franchise if it grew up a little bit. The original pokemon fans are older and more mature now, and should expect a little growth of one of the most popular series in existence
I heard this game had an emphasis on multiplayer, which is useless to people like me who live in small towns where practically nobody else owns a DS. Kinda sad.

@subgerocallidus That would be true if people didn't buy the games anyway. I mean, my best friend has an Acekard (R4 clone if you don't know) and has already imported White and plans to buy Black when it comes out here. I mean, this is the highest-selling Pokemon game yet in Japan already, it's not like Nintendo can't spare a few sales.
@alef321 it uses sprites...but in some areas the camra is low down,super high up,far to the right,rotating or few sprites (like the town)

@SupraDarky I really have to agree, this song in particular is actually giving slightly reminding me of some of my favorite tunes from Suikoden 3, I really do like where they are going with this though. I personally cannot wait for the game, and im praying it redeems the series for me. The music so far has sounded beautiful, which is a real seller for me.

@Happytreefriendsfan3 I am a student, I also have no money. So I will save up. But actually if you live somewhere where they don't sell the games...I reckon that's a legit reason. :) But it bugs me that on every black and white video there are people raving about finding emulators clearly not caring that if they don't support the sales of the games it will reduced the quality of the games made. Hell. If everyone bough the emulator the series would be cancelled. And then what would we do.

@SupraDarky They also brought a better plot, two rivals and one kind of psuedo rival, a female professor, older playable characters, gym leaders more involved in the plot and helping out, ect. Basically they made it like how the PokeSpecial manga has been all along, which is awesome. XD

@SupraDarky They did bring new stuff: triple battles is probably the most notable. There are also different places depending on which version you're playing.
Thia sounds kinda like the gerudo valley theme, but it also has a seirous overtone that gives it a pokemon feel or even a wind waker feel
This sounds a lot like the soundtrack of Dungeon Mystery and Prof LAyon Games. I like the style, I guess it's good to see something diferent in these RPG's.
This sounds way different from a Pokemon game. Sounds more like something for Castlevania when you visit a town.

This new version is really awesome. The story is more mature than the other episodes and the soundtrack is a masterpiece :)

i'm honestly considering buying this game. i haven't played a new pokemon game in over 10 years so why not try it again? interesting music. certainly doesn't sound like typical pokemon.
Going to get it if it's "serious" and more mature. Adding some reality to a game of fiction sometimes gives it the boost to do it again ;)
I loved hearing this music, and as said before, it fits the amosphere of "Beat the 8th gym, on the way to victory road!" perfectly. You should definitely listen to the ending theme.

Looks like this'll be the first pokemon game I'll be buying since I got pokemon gold. not heart gold, just gold.
I'm pretty much out of the loop now when it comes to Pokemon now, but I'm hoping these versions bring enough new stuff to the table. I'll probably buy it when it comes out. One thing's for sure, I'm liking the soundtrack for this game. From what I've heard, it feels quite different and more serious.
