i watched my oldest brother play when I was just around 7 or 8. He got far but I don't think he beat it. This song always stuck with me most though
High class game. I always loved playing this one and the ambiance was practically second to none on the SNES.

Yes, it was quite an amazing nostalgic discovery ;) I was stuck forever in this game first time playing because I could not figure out one crucial part because of the language barrier (though even my English was sub-par back then, since it is not my native language). I think I got stuck right before going to Omnitopia. I just walked around aimlessly whenever I played, just gathering stuff :D
i still have this game. gonna have to give it a playthrough someday soon..

For some reason I had this game in French. My dad must have bought some Belgian copy of the game >_> I didn't know wtf the story was really about until playing the rom years later XD.

@zunnoab Thraxx is the name of the boss pictured on the box cover art, the first major boss in the game.
@dx619hey Oh and that's one of the early bosses in the game on the box art. It's been over a decade since I played it though so I don't remember the name of it.
@dx619hey Yeah the SNES' music chip was amazing for its time. Its musical capabilities for sure were way ahead of its graphics.
... the SNES is capable of that ambience? It sounds so real. And what the hell is that thing on the boxart? Seriously, what the hell is going on with it. It's such a confusing, but oddly compelling mix of disproportion, symmetry, shading, and goddamn it's creepy. Who drew that?
I remember playing this when i was like 6 years old, i couldn't get past the first stage of the game, the jungle. I replayed it once i was like 16, and had a decent knowledge of the English language and i managed to finally beat it. Great game if you ask me.

@SupraDarky True! It's really awesome, although the part afterwards and the way to vulgor kinda sucks imo
@ilovecardj I don't know, I enjoyed them both about equally. Secret of Mana had a more moving storyline and was longer, but this game was very fun to play through and did a good job of creating atmosphere(partly because of the music). I play them both every year :)
Oh yeah, I forgot that Jeremy Soule did this one too, just like Morrowind! Title theme to Morrowind is still one of the best themes ever; surprised that one hasn't been uploaded yet.
@ilovecardj I'd debate, but I have never got my hands on a copy of Secret of Evermore. Maybe later, if I get lucky and get my hands on it.

Very decent game. But, only known as a copy of secret of mana.
...8 years later ... it's not a copy it's a north american sequel...
My favorite part of the game is actually the begining in the forest. I love the atmosphere and hearing ambient noise like we do in this song. It adds a layer of mystery and realism to what's hiding around you.
