I think the closest we'll ever have to Dark Cloud 3 is Ni No Kuni (Level 5, PS3 exclusive). I'm not comparing gameplay style or story or characters. Simply the development team and color/ambience/general atmosphere.
I'm pretty sure there are at least 2. in fact I'm sure there are at LEAST 2. ah, number 88 and 365. altho i could have SWORN i'd heard the queens song.
last night i had a dream where i saw a commercial for dark cloud 3. i was jumping up and down in sheer joy. the main character was oddly, ringo. djangos father from the boktai games. it was set in the past before max and monica had their adventure, and at the end it pissed me off by announcing that it would come out on the playstation vita and not a home console. that dream made me realize how much i fucking want dark cloud 3....

why is everyone such a fan of spheda I hated it personally because it was so god dang hard but I loved the rest of the game
I literally have only one complaint about the game. The Dark Genie boss fight. I will admit that I suck, but damn that was hard. The absolutely FLAWLESS music makes up for any flaws this game could have had though.
True, but Halo is an FPS whilst not comparable, but I totally agree, Dark Chronicle has an amazing replay value and so much to do, and the plus about it is that it is cel-shaded graphics and so cozy at the same time.
I can't even begin to describe how many lucky "bounce-off-wall-change-color-distortion-closed" shots I had playing that....maybe that's why I was so fond of that mini-game, I won a lot on last chance shots like that haha

Spheda was great, but the fish races were awesome!
This game still has the best mini-game ever created in Spheda....playing golf in a dungeon, greatest idea ever!
@kinggogeta123 fully agreed, i was stuck in the forest for like a year, but i still played the game my wrench was near grade zero, yes in the forest, yes it took forever
@shadowg3 Idk i enjoyed the randomness, it kept everything fresh and new no matter what. added alot of replay value to the game

I like how you throw in music from some of the lesser remembered vidja games. Hell I forgot this game exsisted till I saw the title. Played the first one but couldn't get my grubby mitts on the second. Addictive.
@shadowg3 the random dungeon generator didn't bother me what did though were the seals. If the blue seal came up it was no problem cause my Max was stronger but if it was the red one the dungeons got really tough cause while Monica was my fav of the two just wasn't strong and I had to play keep away with magic which made them longer. The white seal wasn't too bad.
This song is my second most favorite song in all of Dark Cloud 2. The music that they do in this game is really good. Sometimes I get on Dark Cloud 2 just to listen to the music.

This song is one of my favorites as well. I gave it some time after I first heard the factory/lab theme in DC1.
@shadowg3 While I still liked this game, I have to mostly agree with you here. I'm not a fan of random dungeons and this was to me this series' biggest problem.

god, dark cloud 2 was awesome. still need to beat the first.
On a side note, as soon as I got the ability to golf, I immediately went back to the sewers only to find out it's the hardest place to play
Dark Cloud 2 is such an underrated game. I'd rather play this than Call of Duty or Halo any day. :)
