I have both ToS and ToS: DotnW. While I can't really determine the better of the two (They are both excellent IMO, I like the universe) the music in both games is excellent as ever. I prefer the music in DotNW, but I like the overall atmosphere and story of the first one. And both music and story make a game, but both games have a story and followed with good music to create a nice atmosphere.
I have never played this expansion one but I still recognize this song from the original ToS
This reminds me of Dire, Dire Docks and something else.
*W* TRIET! I loved Triet. I always love Triet. And it's music. I love all the music in ToS 1 + 2, though, so this is just one on a long list of loves.
I'd really love to hear a live band attempt this one, harmonica and all.
I always of Tetris Attack when I hear this for some reason.
@Mogansss No I meant you could always just watch the first games cutscenes online if you can only get the second game.
I think I like this version of the Triet BGM better. Still need to get around to playing through this game, though. I've had it since the christmas it came out, but never got around to playing it. And with all the insane amount of hours I put into the first, I'm really surprised I haven't yet.
@Mogansss If you don't have the money to buy both, you can always just watch the cutscenes on youtube.
Pretty relaxing. I like it!
I loved this game! Sure there were repetitive fights (auto-fight eases some pain), but the story was good (imo) and controls were just right (lack of wiimote's use did disappoint a bit thought). Music was awesome. Overall worth 8/10 try it out. First play through took me around 30 hours (no bonuses whatsoever)
@TheGoldenMushroom Hah, it wouldn't have been that bad if they wouldn't have deus ex machina'd at the final boss.
Is this the game where at the end all your companions commit suicide to save you and end up saving your ass against the final boss? That pissed me off so much
I never finished the original ToS...just didn't hook me. But I gotta say that people in the image you have in the vid have the CREEPIEST EYES EVER. Srsly. Are those the villains?
I didn't like this game but the first ToS is prolly my 2nd favorite RPG of all time, so I guess I was expecting too much from this game. :P
I prefered the 1st one... but i did like this one ^_^

Oh and the whole soundtrack is definitely stuck in my brain now after 2 games reusing the same melodies (but with different and nice versions).
I chose this over the original version since I finished this game a couple hours ago (and I like both versions). I have to say I was impressed with this game, it's strangely addicting especially after a couple hours when you have your monsters (which ended up being overpowered). The battle system was as solid as ever and it felt nice to revisit the first game's universe. The story wasn't anything special but it finished on a high note. Overall a nice sequel/spin-off.
