No Just No its pretty food but you cant command them directly however still a great game and you should still play it!

No Just No It's worth playing but not as good as P4. Story is good but suffers from extremely poor pacing, social links weren't as good and no Yosuke. Still good, just not as good id say. It can be bought for $20 and it's worth that.

In regular combat it's okay, boss fights... It can get you killed. "Oh MC needs to be healed? Better cast a useless buff!"
The PSP version does have controllable characters just so you know. I haven't actually played P4 but I'm playing P3 right now and it's friggin great, though I guess there's always some pain going back an entry with a series
Persona 3 Portable also lets you play as a Female Protag if you want. New Game + Carries over regardless.
All you miss is the extended ending from Persona 3 FES and I've had friends who are big fans of the series say "Just watch it on youtube unless you really need to play something that hard."

You know, I was expecting a serious Battle Theme. Persona 3 is my first Persona game I ever played so I don't really know the tone of the game, but for the first few parts it's kinda serious, but when the first battle theme came up, I was like, "......Dafuq?" and then became retarded as I danced to the theme
They make the strangest songs work so well as battle themes. Most fight themes are dynamic and sound like you're fighting dangerous foes. This one just gets you FUCKING PUMPED.

Well, take it the way you will, I'm not here to snuff out anyone for speaking their mind, but to put things into my perspective, I see P3 and 4 as games that are just, not necessarily upbeat (Though they are), but pretty damn jazzy. I personally like this theme's twist on that, turning into something a little more badass than what you get out of P4 to appeal to the game's mood. And you know it? It works. On me, anyways.

I really can't decide if I like the Persona 3 or Persona 4 soundtrack better. They both compliment their games very well. Persona 3 has a cool mix of brass instruments with rap lyrics, while Persona 4 has lots of upbeat music with a Jpop style to it. Both of them are totally awesome.

P3 had so much better soundtrack than P4. It was more memorable, all the songs were matched perfectly. I don't say that Persona 4 is worse as a game (I only played P4Golden) but the soundtrack there was only ok, nothing more.
I find the boss themes of P4 better than P3's, but P3's music better overall, but in conclusion, both soundtracks are bloody amazing no matter what anyone says.
I personally think there is no better soundtrack , seeing as they are both really similar and come down to personal taste. As in , I can and have been listening to both soundtracks and never got bored of them for years now , so I can't pick a favourite 'cause they suit different occasions.

@RayLedgend Maybe I'm abit to late now, but get the PSP version if you have a PSP. Being able to control your characters in battle is SO much better than having to choose their tactics. Also you can play as a Female MC, which makes the game worth beating atleast twice. But the PS2 games have somethings that the PSP version does not, so you'll have a blast with the game either way ^^

You can't really compare the two. I mean yeah Persona 3 had battle improvements, such as having full control of characters, and the links were more beneficial. That's a plus but the fact that there was 1 tower in P3 and several Dungeons in P4 just makes them different! They're both amazing in their own right!

To be honest if you spend about an hours worth time of this song playing during the game it does get a little irritating... or atleast to me it does. Then again I've never liked repetitiveness so meh! I don't think I can ever get sick of it though because after about an hour AFTER that it no longer bothers me!! ^_^

Though this is catchy and I believe this could be a good theme song at the right moment such as in a crowded, people infested area in a highly lit place with werid people inside a club or casino because of a fight that started with somebody and he has super powers but he or she is sexy or hot and maybe has no purpose in the game other than the fight and the situation.....whew.
I think you should eliminate this battle theme from your favorite list and move up your Final Fantasy VII battle theme to absolute first. I know I'm on a fan video page where fans of the game are on but come on.....really, it doesn't sound right to be in a dark cave with supposedly scary things and when you battle something you have to listen to this music that kills the moment. But hey, I'm just human and my opinion may leak out sometimes but I'm just giving a suggestion.

Maybe not a battle theme like in usual RPGs but the funky-nes is undeniable. Instead of serious orchestrated battle theme, why not use hip-hop. I think they want us to have fun when fighting Shadows. That's the point isn't it? Having fun... The game is a combination of both funk and orchestra. When I heard the piano music at the start screen, it felt like the first time I played Final Fantasy again which is IX and X. (That's what I think. No offence)

The whole Persona series is unique to begin with, so why give it a generic battle theme? Give it something that stands out, like this!

Heh, some things I said are personal but others are theory-based. For example, there's a video I commented that it's missing the dominant chord. When that happens, I feel the song is missing the required tension and emotion, but that's just a personal taste. For the same reason I enjoy only music in minor mode, because major evokes happiness, and that's not the feeling music should have for me. But there are others things that no one can argue, for example: This track is a piece of crap.

Persona 3 was amazing for a PS 2 game. Its crisp style , music and anime style was something I have never seen before and it WORKED ! It just goes to show you that Square Enix aint the only company that can make an awesome RPG , and Persona 3 had something that Final Fantasy hasnt had in quite awhile. A ORIGINAL PLOT.
