agreeing with stuballs on that. awful is a silly term to use. i think twilight princess has garnered a fair amount of disappointment from loyal fans but no need to jump onto the bandwagon. by gaming standards, twilight princess is still a masterpiece, zelda or not.

Stuballs Naw... "Awful" is the experience i describe in which is entirely subjective... Windwaker and Majoras mask was such a high-note to end off with this gutter trash on the Wii having to waggle the damn remote to slash/stab. You simply dont agree, and thats fine. I dont care. lol The Wii version was godawful.

Okay I'm gonna put my opinion in. I agree with people saying that Skyword Sword had a very dull atmosphere. I was often bored or frustrated in the game. The only thing I enjoyed was the storyline and how the characters looked. To be honest, I never completed the game since I felt pressured to. As for Twilight Princess, it's my first Zelda game. I love the storyline, the characters, the scenery, the music, everything. I'm replaying it now. Ocarina of Time was amazing too, and now the connections to other games with it are more evident. Wind Waker is fun and seems really easy to me. But I love it all the same.
Wow, we are the same! I did not complete Skyward Sword either, for the same reason! Though I'd rather say that the problem was Skyward Sword had a cartoony feel to it, while Twilight Princess took you back to the the-world-has-fallen-to-evil Ocarina of Time days.
@AngelkittenArtist Yeah, at first I too thought Skyward Sword was... ok...But the time I was playing it back in 2011-12 I really didn't want to play it, I was more into online games and I was not prepared or in the mood of playing a console game with storyline and things like that, so I played and finished the game because you know, if a Zelda game comes out, you just HAVE to play it, and I was forcing myself, it was all my fault... But the more I remember the game, the more I like it, I think you should finish it or play it again, I realized it is the Zelda game with best gameplay yet, really, the gameplay is just flawless, specially the flying controls! I guess it is one of those games you get to appreciate when time passes by... It is a shame you'll never know how was playing all the great Zelda games before TP when they came out, and one of the biggest hypes on videogame history when TP was announced back in 2004.

I personally loved both WW and TP (although i liked WW more), to be honest it was Skyward Sword which i didn't really like, cant seem to figure why, since most people said it was their favourite Zelda, maybe i wasnt in the mood when when i played it, or maybe ive just lost my taste for Zelda games? :(
I liked this game, but the dungeons were a chore. After a while I realized that the dungeons were the thing that people played Zelda for, and figured that Zelda just wasn't for me.
I son't care which Zelda game Shigsy makes as long as it's a Zelda game made by him that's awesome. They should mix it up between the two, but I think he should focus more on the WW route. sigeru has made lots of drastic decisions, none have been bad yet. I mean, he advised Retro studios to turn Metroid Prime into an FPS. Everyone was mad at first, but look at how immersive those games are. A little bit of the old can't be bad though as long as it has some differences like TP did.
Midna stands as an all time favorite Zelda character.

Except TP wasn't the direction of what the fans wanted, and was largely inferior to OoT and MM in terms of gameplay and overall atmosphere, and did nothing new like WW. Still an enjoyable game, but to say going in the direction fans want is a mistake because of one failed attempt to top a previous pinnacle is a bit misguided

I think Miyamoto should do what he wants, and Zelda will always turn out good. After all, Zelda wasnt made by the fans, it was made by Miyamoto. He knows whats good for Zelda better than the fans do.
I think Skyward Sword combined these ways perfectly.

Everyone should know this theme it's right at the start of the game
I have no problems with either games to be honest. WW was a more typical Zelda, in terms of how it was set, but too a venture into uncharted waters, no pun intended, by changing the artistic design. TP, on the other hand, was darker and more gritty but with an artistic design that was more familiar. I don't know that the game was made this way to appease fans or if it was an experiment in returning to OoT. To me, TP was the better game, I loved every second of it.

The real fans didn't bash WW though..sure when people first saw screen caps people may have been a little hesitant but I cant see any real Zelda fan not liking WW after playing through it. Story was amazing the art style, though different grew on you after a few hours of playing. WW was an AMAZING game and letting Miyamoto go his route would be the best thing for Zelda imo.
@Phenolatukas Nah, it sounds to me more like some kind of audio defect. There was never any wind whistling through the trees in the game. There are similar weird effects with a few other songs from various soundtracks rips of TP: e.g. most videos of Ordon Ranch on YouTube have a kind of running water sound, even though there was no water near the ranch, in game. No idea what causes it.

@Mooglecito Dont worry man. In a recent interview with Eiji Aonuma he said they don't really look what the fans want when making a new Zelda game. I think TP is the only game where they kinda did that, and learned from that. Not that TP was a bad game of course.
@Mooglecito TP is catering to the fans but the game was innovative (eg the dragons fought via hookshot) this was partially because it couldnt rely on the m.plus. SS is killer but I almost feel like TP's puzzles were more of a challenge + not as much prompting from Link's sidekick in order to complete tasks. Aside from this SS works well imo. If TP's scale was too ambitious & Zelda builds on the SS route, it could be good. In any case some fans will bash any series, cant win em all.

@Mooglecito So true. I also noticed that whenever I saw TP and WW. WW was something Nintendo enjoyed to make because they did what they themselves wanted. With TP, they just did what the fans wanted and when i play TP i can sense that TP wasnt made with the same love or enthusiam as when Nintendo worked on WW. Maybe its just me tho'.
This song really confuses the player as to the mood they should be feeling while walking through the forest. You want to feel safe and secure and admire the beauty of the forest but at the same time you feel like there's something at every corner trying to kill you... an unsettling feeling. Beautiful composition.
@SixOutOfAHundred It was a bit easy (even though i followed the advise of leaving all the boss hearts to make those a bit more chalenging) But it's so much fun and the style is nice and gloomy a definite must buy, even more if this is one of your first zelda's (stock up on hearts in that case ;) )

Music is a great listen. enjoyed playing a new zelda after long years. Sad that all the hype 'ruined' the quick and easy playthrough. None the less, it's been a long time since played through this. Warrants another play. :)

@AkhmedSync Actually, that's true, but for the wrong reasons. Children tend to play games like GTa or CoD because they think it's cool to play only "grown-up" stuff, so they only buy "mature" games that contain blood, gore and sex. And yet adults are the main demographic buying games aimed at children (like Kirby's Epic Yarn, Katamary or Pokemon) because with their maturity they can appreciate the games for the fun they bring instead of the lack of violence

Most Zelda fans are divided on how the Zelda series should progress. Take the WW route, letting Miyamoto do what he wants with his game resulting on the fans bashing it? Or the TP route, giving fans what they want, only to they bash it later for being more of the same? Sadly the Zelda fanbase is going to the route of the FF or Sonic fanbase now.

I think the game would have been better without the whole twilight aspect as it did not really appeal to me. Don't get me wrong, i still love the game. But the visualeffects of the twilight was kinda off, and beeing a dog wasn't that pleasant.

@Supermariofan14 Yup. The Deku Bros.- the Deku Scrub minibosses- refer to Gohma as their queen. Ergo, Gohma is the Queen of the Deku (Scrubs) in OoT.

Finally, something off the TP soundtrack on this list! Personally, it's the best game soundtrack I've ever heard. Not necessarily this song, but some of the music in there is absolutely amazing.

Despite beating this within 3 days of getting it, I love this game. Really want Midna to either have her own game or make another appearance in the next Zelda game. :\ But yeah, I really like this theme. It's kind of celestial if you ask me. Like, otherworldly.

I wouldn't bother him too much about it. 42 hours is quite much for any Zelda title, but he did say he did it without a guide. Most players I hear of who takes long on certain games tend to relie on a guide. While I plow through many games in far less time, I admit to using a guide on occasion.
i beat the game in 42 hours on my first run through without a guide. i was proud. water temple took up most of that time and i wish i could replay all the boss battles and the hidden village part

This is a great song, but I don't understand how you could leave out the Hyrule Field theme from this game. To each his own, I suppose. Still appreciate all the work that you've done in making this awesome channel.
I'm pretty sure these aren't really in any specific order.
Morpha was the evil causing drought in the Hylian Lake and all those problems with the Zoras - so it works for that too. Yeah they might be a little forced, but at least they were all properly integrated into the main plot. Also OoT is a masterpiece and the greatest game ever created imho (my list of the truely great games on Nintendo Consoles being OoT, ToS, Resident Evil 4, SSBM, Goldeneye 64, Perfect Dark, DK Racing, Mario Kart DS, Banjo Kazooie and both SM 64 and SM Galaxy)
Not true- all of the bosses in OoT were integral connected to their dungeon: Gohma: Queen of the Dekus, parasite killing the Deku Tree. King Dodongo: King of the Dodongos, enemies of the Gorons. Barrinade: Parasite inside Jabu Jabu Volvagia: Ancient beast awakened by Ganondorf. Darunia went to slay it. It's mentioned a crapload. Morpha: OK, you've got me here. Bongo Bongo: Ancient evil hidden in the well; unleashed by Ganondorf.

This song is almost similar to the city of the ancients track in FF VII. Awesome song on its own merits though.
Sadly...Windwaker was mine, but I caught up...well, actually, Links Awakening was. Play windwaker and ocarina plus majora. Then play hte 2D ones and some of the handhelds, they're great. Theres a reason they've lasted for so long.

I'm missing one heart... its not that easy finding htem but I like the hint system they set up( a much better alternative to gamefaqs, which I wouldn't use). Anyway they show a room in like a dungeon with little critters but I can't figure out the area.

wind waker was also easy. Most of the 2D ones are the hard ones. Link to the past is the last I can confirm since I didn't play the gb ones(well I tried them out but not in depth).

loved this game. omfg the art style is amazing in this game. loved the characters in this game ( <3 midna!! ) the music is fantastic too. especially the zora domain.
1- Graphics=/= Good Game 2- At first, its lineal, but then you have total freedom. 3- Decent story, it wasnt boring. 4- Bosses were good, but damn easy You guys suck, the graphics are good, cuz its a certain style The story is awesome, better than any other zelda game Bosses were insanely well thought of, but yes too easy

How does Zelda always amaze me? They keep sequelizing it every 2 years or so, but it just gets better, never gets dull!
The music was good but the Hyrule field appeared to me very unnatural also because I feld caged the first time I walked on it, you could only go one way because the other ways were closed by rocks! That seemed very implausible to me. Thats one example but the whole game is composed like this: You have to go one direction with no stops and very seldom sidequests. Nice graphics, yes, but this didnt impress me just like "Star Fox Adventures" for GC. Also boring story, only the bosses were good :)
Thank you. Yeah, they all are very similar and in particular TP to OoT. Myamoto said this had been the last Zelda game in its old style. So by and by it was time to modernize Zelda and make it a mature game. With TP they topped the highest mountain of my patience. I'm ready to forgive, if the current project will blow me away.

Anyway, I think that TP is excellent from what I've played, though I see your point: it is very similar to OoT. (But aren't they all fairly similar?) Anyway, they really need to have some voice acting by now. :P

This game is nearly the complete remake of "Ocarina of Time". The only differneces to it are its senseless story and the fully Zelda-untypical game composition. Anyway, the producers said it was the best Zelda of all time and so I bought this impotent sucking WASTE of time. Possibly that's my problem, is it? Do you maybe now a bit agree with me, little kidz?
