But didn't the composers say they wanted to make a soundtrack "inspired by" Michael Jackson? Even if he didn't have a direct hand in any of it (we'll never know, how can you be so certain it's a myth?), it seems they were at least trying to imitate his style.

As someone who now today listens to a lot of 80s Hi-NRG and Italo DIsco for some reason (I'm 19) I think I have this stuff to blame, the basslines and synths are a lot alike. The bass line in this track is a very classic Hi-NRG bass line.

Sweet this is the best quality rip of this song. Sounds pretty much like it was recorded from a Model 1 Genesis and not a emulator. <3 I own 2 so I can definitely tell the difference. ;)

One of the best songs in ANY Genesis game. The Sonic series really has amazing music, and this game as well as Knuckles are even better than the already impressive first two games.

@marioclub101 "Some" of it actually was. Brad Buxer (MJ's music partner & a credited composer for Sonic 3) confirmed in 2009 that "some" of MJ's work is still in the final game and that he & MJ themselves did the ending theme. Check it out & Michael Jackson's "Stranger in Moscow"! 😌😜😍

Ice stages in all old schools games are awesome and have sweet music. But this one took it to the next level thanks to Jackson's composing. RIP MJ
