i beat this game about a month ago. this is the only theme that stood out to me during the entirety of the game, and i even found my self humming along while playing. even now listening to it i am overcome with goosebumps. amazingly written piece that really lends itself to make the game seem all the more epic.
i heard it over 200 times while doing the Perfect Run and I'm never bored of this tune.
it will take some time before we see a new video game song as amazing as this one (maybe with zelda skyward sword?)

Video game music i think is such an underrated art form but if you think about it it is one of the most beautiful forms of expression and almost something that can't be expressed with words. to be able to turn a couple of notes and turn it into something that can take u to another world is beyond measure.

As I go on remembering the trailers and such from this game, I realize that this song was used in some of the trailers, as well, making this the iconic song of Super Mario Galaxy. When you hear this song, even without being told what it is you instantly know that this is Super Mario Galaxy. Great song.

galaxy has such an..EPIC soundtrack. It's not cheesy as i excpected to be in a mario's game; it's fresh, epic but never gloomy, it always make you..happy and pumped up i guess. i had thrills at 1:30 while jumping with mario and doing awsome shit in the space. Man,this game is just so fucking pefect. never had so much fun in YEARS. Ans yes, the soundtrack is one of the best of the decade.

This piece reminds me a lot of Nimbus Land's theme from Super Mario RPG, especially with the pizzicato in the background around 1:25.
