How the hell was that achieved on the SNES?!?! 99% of N64 games didn't sound half that good, or were even MIDIs on the disc-based PlayStation and Saturn. That Sony sound chip in the SNES really was years ahead of its time.
@TurboPikachuX This is the arranged version from the OST. Neither Saturn nor PS use MIDI for their chip music, but the chips carry a MIDI-compatible interface.

There is NO way this is from the SNES. I can tell the difference between CD quality and the SNES sound chip. This must be a song from a CD version of the game.
Either that or the game somehow utilized a more advanced sound chip..? I don't know if that's possible though...

This is definitely arranged. VAP Records released an album for the music many years back, including both re-arranged music and the original sound files.
