I love the music from the gbc Zelda games so much and this track is one of my favorites!
this is the most underworshiped piece of music in zelda history, its maybe the most beautiful song on the gameboy and its pretty unknown
I remember being 10 yrs old and had no idea how to fix this area. Because i didn't speak english i had to call that nintendo service line, and they gave me wrong answers. At that time i was at my grandparents, when my mother came to pick me up and i explained something about this game, she asked me why i didn't try something which i was like no that doesn't work. So ok, i give it a try and yes that was how to solve the puzzle. She never played any videogame and i was like !!!??.??

0:30 This bit of the melody is a bit jarring to me. It jumps to a different scale and suddenly I'm in ancient Japan. It's not bad, but it kind of comes out of nowhere.
It's embarrassing to admit ,but i was stuck on this lost-woods part for 3 years in "oracle of seasons". I would've looked it up, but had no access to the internet. I manage to figure it out on my own and gave myself the biggest facepalm lolol

Gorgeous music. These are great underrated games.
I used to get frustrated here trying to get the Noble Sword (L-2) and getting to Level 6. It was cool getting the Master Sword (L-3) during the linked game.

Where are people getting this misinformation about Ages having a larger amount of puzzles than Seasons? Ages focuses more on puzzles in dungeons while Seasons focuses more on puzzles in the world. Ages only really has slightly more puzzles than Seasons but not enough to make a huge difference.
I haven't played through seasons (because I'm currently in the middle of The Minish Cap), but from what I've heard, Seasons seems to be the more popular choice. I can't really say which one is better, but you might prefer Seasons.

I love this song. I can only describe it as mysterious. I think everyone here is like, "There's something to this song that I can't put my finger on." And it feels like some ancient time we visited except we never visited it. But mysterious, yeah. That's a good word for it I think
not sure about anyone here but i used to go to the tarm ruins just to listen to the music when i was little :P used to love playing this game. the only zelda game i played and beat 3 time. (cause my no good friends took my game and deleted the saves...)

I can't seem to find any remixes of this song that capture the essence and emotion of the original. I don't know if it's possible.
Plenty of remixes on here. Quite a few I found good. 1 done with Mario Paint was pretty good & some done on piano were pretty good too.
@Nicksolo85 A lot of them are pretty good, but none of them hit the spot like the original. For me at least. Let me know if you find any amazing ones though!
I think it's the Gameboy chiptune. In this song in particular the chiptune creates an "alien" or "mystical" feeling that no remix could recreate so far.
@MG4M3R I think you're completely right. I keep trying to come up with other instruments that could replace these sounds to enhance that "mystical" feeling, but haven't been able to come up with anything. Maybe a chiptune remix would work.
@AlphaCrucis There was a rock one which was surprisingly in the same vibe as the original, but it was put on private :( Couldn't find it afterwards...

These two games and especially their music remind me on a time that i have already forgotten. Not only on my childhood, when i plaid them, but rather on the ancient times, when europe was still much more like the world in these games. I cannot wait anymore for the return of this age, but i now it will return, because time is a circle and everything will reapeat itself. The future is the past.

When it comes to music tracks, I preferred the ones exclusive to this game over the ones exclusive to Oracle of Ages. I think the Subrosians are cooler than the Tokay, the Subrosian Dance is better & easier than that pain in the ass Goron Dance, but I think Veran is slightly cooler than General Onox. When I play the 2 side-by-side, I mostly do Oracle of Ages 1st & this 1 (password) 2nd. I just prefer to do it like that, don't ask me why.
Seasons was meant to be more exciting and fast paced, while Ages was more for puzzlers and was more story-driven.

They were going to make a third game with Farore (Oracle of Secrets), but they figured it would be too complicated to link three games storylines so they just went with the two.

I used to play the hell out of Ages and Seasons back when I had a Gameboy Color, now I'm reliving the old days on my 3DS. Currently, I'm making my way through the Tarm Ruins, and I just got my Noble Sword.

They are already out for the eshop, but they are not remakes, just ports. 4.99 each. Im enjoying seasons so far, really great and addictive game :)

Virtual console re-release with game connectivity is perfectly fine with me. I honestly don't want any remakes of the 2D Zelda games. I dunno, maybe I'm just saying that since these are some of my favorite games.
They are it comes out in Japan this month.
They must make a remake of this games, maybe the 2 games in the same (I mean, start the game in a menu where we can choose what game we want play) and dont make a 2º remake of a link to the past. I want see this games in the 3ds.

I love Oracle of Seasons, and it has a lot of things going for it (I agree Holodrum is better then Labrynna by miles), but let's not say Onox is better then Veran. Onox just sits there waiting for you to show up. Veran spends most of the game fucking Link's shit up, even when he finally thinks he has one over on her, only to find out she has a back up plan. I think OoS has a better overworld, and OoA has better dungeons.
The story of Ages is far superior and more interesting. It has a bigger map but the problem is there's not so much action.

Seasons is the better oracle game. Better world, town, mechanic, villain, dungeons, bosses cameos, characters etc etc.

Maybe the chart only included sales for one part of a region for some games. I'm not sure if they sold 4 mil each, or 4 mil combined. They never addressed this anywhere as far as I know. But really, all the zelda games sell well.
Thank you for ha information. I saw it on a graph of sales, probably on zeldadungeon, that showed OOX lowest. I have no numbers other than your four million. Mayhaps the chart was wrong or only showed the possible sales of a set or preorders or something. Do you Know?

yeah..well i was like...7 around the time the oracle games came out[i think]and i was given the choice by my dad since i behaved extremley well and i chose seasons and he said if i wanted the other i had to behave twice as good...weeeeeeellll.....
Never got OOA? Lo, a shame. I'd recommend finding a way to play both. OOS is a great game, but what really sets the Oracles apart from the rest of Zelda is the way the two stories in two different countries interact with each other and with Hyrule. It's strange. The very thing that makes me think they deserve a squeal is probably the same thing that's kept them from making it.
and yes i have played fsa, asweome game. too bad i only get to play it when borrowing from my friend..but from what ive heard that vizzed board site will..eventually, support gamecube
they were ONLY cause people refused to give them a chance cause i believe around the time the players only cared about graphics and would pick the snes/n64 zelda games over them..now im not saying those are bad, quite the opposite they are as if sent by the GODDESSES themselves..but also to me oos [nevergot ooa but i have vizzed board for that]was a kickass game as well!
Well, have you played "Four Swords Adventures?" Twas like a 16 bit game but on the 100+ bit Gamecube instead of the SNES or GBA. The great graphics gap allowed the game to do things most can't, primarily relating to large numbers of individual moving objects sharing the screen & flowing animation. If an 8 bit Secrets were on the WiiU, the gap would be 8 to 6/700+. Even on the 3DS this game could be enormous. A big problem is that the Oracles were the lowest selling Zelda games, or so I've heard.
yeah, or make a collection pack for the 3ds including seasons and ages AND include secrets..and even better...mkae i an option to play with the original gbc ver...or play a 3d version
да, they were called the triforce series, "Mystical Seed of Wisdom/Power/Courage." There's been this whole thing going around about remaking "A Link to the Past" or "Majora's Mask," but I'd prefer they just Finnish Secrets.

Don't worry, you're basically right. A lot of reasons kept this game from even being made, mostly how they linked up to each other and how they worked with each other (creating two games that still work when you link them up was already a hassle, imagine doing that for three.)
The first video game I ever got was on Christmas,a gameboy advance with both the oracle of seasons and ages with it. Best,Christmas,ever.

Has anyone ever compared this to the Faron Woods theme in Skyward Sword?
I thought it was because the Gameboy Color couldn't Handel all the permutations of the code system for three games.
The main reason why Oracle of Secrets was cancelled because going through 3 games was going to be too hard for players collecting items from each game and solving more puzzles and etc. for each game so they kept it 2 instead.
Yes, mayhaps a console game in the 2D/3D style of Four Sword Adventures; Link might drift back to land, or get rescued, to find the Twinrovae are wreaking some new havoc on the several countries(HY, TE, HO, LA+) seeing as he foiled their primary plan.

I really hope that they might remake these games on the 3DS like they did with Four Swords; and hopefully they will have an easier time giving Farore her own game. Poor girl got shafted to a really minor role. Which sucks because she seems interesting.

@LinkEX For Nintendo and CapCom to finish off whatever content they had started with Mystical Seed of Courage (making all necessary changes to the story), and release it as a full 2d 8-bit style Wii-u game entitled "Oracle of Secretes," in like spirit with the The Game Cube's Four Swords Adventures as it relates to large numbers of moving objects sharing the screen at once, would be a wise decision indeed.

I used to go to the ruins just to listen to the music ;) but sometimes that guy there with the flail would kill me...I learned the lesson and I never went past the first screen again

@MajorasMask65 For me I let my friend borrow seasons and he lost it. I never saw it ever again plus seasons was my very first Zelda game, all I can do now is either wait until it comes to the eshop for the 3DS, download it to an emulator or actually find a game copy of it which is impossible now.

this was my first zelda game, i bought it in like 2nd grade. it was really hard for me to figure out how to get out of the first part....anyways, this game is my favorite zelda game. i think every zelda fans favorite one is their first because it triggers so many memories. kojis music is also composed so intricately. he knows which arpeggios and notes are going to hit your emotions and make you feel the exact way he wants you to feel.
@profesor1917 Lol you're right. I remember I was stuck at this part for so long, back then I didn't understand the concept of which season order I needed to set the woods to.
It isnt the same without the sound effects of Link swinging the Rod of Seasons and the Seasons changing
I swear, once I was done with the game, I sometime went there and spent HOURS just to listen to this awesome music. Truly the best song of any 8-bit Zelda games

@LeleOtaku Neither of those games can even be considered "underrated" due to how heavily memed and unanimously hated the games are. In fact, its arguable that they're OVERrated based on the memes alone.
You don't hear much about these two little diamonds, sadly enough. IMO either one of these games is better than phantom hourglass and spirit tracks combined. These games where very similar to the good Zelda games like ALTTP and Links Awakening...

I remember this from my childhood. Seasons was my first Zelda game and probably my favorite, and this is by far my favorite music from this game. Listening to this feels like I'm actually in the game...

@SMRPGFAN101 I was stuck on that for four months.... -_- Imagine how long it would take people now if the made a 3D remake....o_o I was so close to beating them both, at the last dungeon in each. I always loose them when I'm on the last dungeon...>_< Just a week ago I found OoS, I beat it in 20 minutes and beat the s**t out of Onox 5+ times just to vent my frustration that I couldn't beat Ages and finish the darn series. At least I saved Din...=3 I think I'll sack my own house for OoA...

@MegaMajorasmask One of the huge reasons I look forward to it. I would like to be able to just play the Gameboy Zeldas on my Wii though. Also my cartridges are dying and aren't holding saves. If Nintendo is thinking of allowing other platforms on the 3DS, then I don't see why not on the Wii. The controls would not be much different than the NES games. I don't have as much time nowadays either and would rather game on a console if that makes sense.
I can barely remember the Tarm Ruins. And it kills me. These games were fucking AMAZING. Also, @tenorsaxman3030, find a guide. I liked Ages WAY more than seasons, honestly. I've gotta find my copy of OoA....and link's awakening, too.

I lost "it" not "them". I still have Oracle of Ages; I lost Seasons. I actually recall playing seasons with this music in that very area at the airport when I met a guy who let me borrow the game while I waited, so that's why I wanted Zelda in the 1st place. I really want to find my Oracle of Seasons to play it again. T.T

I've played these games so much that going through them isn't as fun as it used to be. I miss the days when this game gave me so many wonders.
I prefer Seasons, but I think mostly because I gave Ages to my brother, and therefore played Seasons first. I love this track

Both Ages and Seasons share some music traks. Only Ages has deeper music than Seasons, but the puzzles are brutal. The Power Glove tile puzzle really ticked me off.

the gameboy color Zelda games (the 3 of them) are my favorite zelda games. MUCH better than Lttp, which is VERY overrated.
Zelda: Oracle of Seasons and Ages are severely underrated. It has a fresh and new start that both returns to the original Zelda roots while it explores new opportunities in 2-Dimensional gameplay. And of course, a beatiful soundtrack that uses the small Gameboy Colour for all it's worth. The reason why I don't like Minish Cap and Phantom Hourglass is because I liked these two far more...
