Oh my god I hated this boss
painful bosses are also why we play kingdom hearts. Even if the storyline is the first, and the most attractive part of the serie. Dragonform Maleficient took me an hour and I loved it, but Xigbar in the second episode was way funnier to fight.
Am I the only one thinking the next KH game should have Deep Jungle once more, since this world only appeared on the very first game?
The fighting system in KH2 was far better. But in terms of general gameplay, KH2 felt very tedious and monotonous to me. You walk through tube levels and variantly fight enemies and watch cutscenes. They took out most of the exploration and platforming elements, which made the first one a lot more diversified. There may be other points in which KH2 is arguably superior, but the monotony made it the worse out of the two games for me.
I judge games based on gameplay, kingdom hearts 1 had a better story but kingdoms hearts 2 had better combat and better worlds. So in my oppinion 2 is the better game based off of gameplay not story.
I found KH2 to be better than KH1, because it had more and bigger worlds. I especially loved "Timeless River" (that black and white world). Also I found all the bosses to be unique and fun, music awesome, and the story was solid too. You have to admit that the Gummi Ship levels improved over KH1 a lot. The world I found most boring was Halloween Town. Also there are some epic moments like the 1000 heartless fight. I only didn't like how they didn't add Tarzan's world.
Nice to see someone give attention to the Disney stage tunes and all. Maybe its because it took me a couple of listens to really get attached to songs such as this opposed to the songs in Hollow Bastion, for instance. Hope to see more Kingdom Hearts songs that are less obvious from you. And thanks for the nostalgia rush. Remember going through this place vividly at first one Christmas. It was a blast.

One thing I love about this game is that it felt like an action plat-former and not like a beat m up bam bam triangle rapidly, and you beat the game. And then the story just felt more... mysterious. The second one just felt like, "HEY GUYS LETS GO AND KILL hEARTLESS!"
I like all kingdom hearts games, but the first one is definitely my favorite one. And deep jungle was one of my favorite worlds...
@Lionheart638 Donalds Limits were only good for huge hit numbers, but cmon, i know you liked either knocksmash or whirly-Goof, other than that, Japan should have give us the Limit Form from Final Mix II because that form let you use sora's old moves
The second game had no sense of adventure. It felt like the same world on repeat.

yeah they tried to make it more actionbased but what annoyed me was you fought your way througgh the level and loooooots of talking then a fight loooots of talking...went through the planets and talking talking the story line didnt follow a path I think just level to level...but doesnt matter still a decent game
I actually agree with you on that one. I felt that KH 1 was better than the second one. I felt that the story seemed to flow more smoothly and it just felt funner. The second KH did have some memorable moments in it also, don't get me wrong. One thing that I didn't like in the second KH was that they got rid of the spcial attack abilities that you gain (Strike Raid, Ars Arcanum, etc.) I really was not a fan of the limits in the second one.

is it just me or was KH one better than kingdom hearts 2? I think it was at least I was more focused on playing it the story etc. the second I didnt even finish till now some bosses are really the pain
The flute parts of this song remind me an awful lot of Shadowgate for the NES.
