+Misan tropo The game is what every Berserk fan should wish for, especially the writing. Miura even wrote some new parts for the game that were excellent.
The game has a clumsy gameplay and it's extremely linear, but it's not that bad. Nowhere near as good as this soundtrack, but pretty decent if you're a Berserk fan.
I am honestly having a blast with it.

Reading/Watching Berserk makes me feel depressed, desperate, sad and angry. That's why it's one of the best Mangas ever made. It succeeds at its job, you care for the characters, you actually like the main protagonist and cheer for him, which doesn't happen a lot in most of Shonen related Mangas and you despise the antagonist for his actions because he is not just a cool badass who outshines the hero or a stereotypical villain who likes to laugh a lot because... evil people laugh a lot.

Berserk was pretty much the progenitor of the Souls series, a lot of stuff from Berserk is mirrored in Demons' Souls and Dark Souls 1. If From ever did an official Berserk game, it would be entirely appropriate and things would come full circle.

In fact its supposed to end farther than the Eclipse when the Skull Knight breaks Guts & Kaska out of the God Hand realm. He's now killed the Sea God and with his sword covered in Immortal Apostle Blood. theory has it Guts could kill the god Hand with his Sword.

I know nothing about this game but what I've just seen, but from what I've seen I need to see more. I make a comic strip called Todd & The Shining Sword, and seeing those bright streaks reminded me of Todd's Shining Sword, and I got to thinking: Todd needs to learn some moves from this guy, but modify them to fit his fighting style. Like Ken and Ryu both know the Hadoken and Shoryuken, but have different ways they perform each as they developed different ways after Street Fighter 2 World Warrior

@TheSauronator I speak Portuguese and it doesn't sound like that either... I have to agree it sounds like a distorted Japanese. Some of the words sound very similar to the few words I know, and although they don't have "L" I've seen it used anyway in some anime. Maybe this is their own made-up dialect, or something else. I tried putting some of the lyrics into Google Translate, but it couldn't detect the language... so who knows.
I only knew the Atari 2600 Berzerk but never knew there was one on PS2 only difference is it has an S instead of A Z.

I stopped watching anime for awhile. My all time favorite was Akira and maybe Cowboy Bebop as far as shows go. All that changed when I was handed Berzerk... just wow. I'd love to play this game.

@gathimest Many, if not most, manga starts off with a One shot, and then get built upon that. The real serielization of the Berserker did indeed start however in 1990. So you are right in that concept. :) Praise and praise, we barely knew about Berserker due to Darkhorse little attempt of keeping it constricted outside of Asia. =/ Hate that. And I want the god damn Anime to show the REAL Berserker Manga, an OVA compared to that half decent attempt they did. -.-

the Beast? You mean the wolfhound within Gutts? Yeah I agree with the slight offtastedness when the story moved into the Schierke arc. That was alright, but when each secondary character got a magic weapon/armor... all of a sudden... I guess Miura had no choice but to have them survive he had to be a conspicuous deus ex machina and give them such weapons.
Yeah, but I thought that special attribute for killing otherworldly creatures/spirits was only because Gutts killed so many of them in the first place? And the dead spirits at night is just killable with any weapon?

I think I remember that, but honestly it's going to be deadly against near anything. I don't want to imagine the sword having any magical essense. I want it to remain a slab of iron. I'm alright with the Bereserker Armor though my favorite part of the manga will always be the chapters right before the Beast appaers. Thats the strongest I think Guts could humanly be. From then on he gets magic buffs.

Godot was previously the blacksmith of a king, but fell out of favor when he forged the unelegant Dragon Slayer, as a contest among blacksmiths to create a sword capable of killing a dragon. Pretty much he made a huge ass sword as a joke, but when Guts came in contact with him after the Eclipse he was able to wield it just fine and is a nessesary weapon in order to slay such mythological creatures. Play the game and you'll find that you'll only scar a dragon with the blade

having played through the game I can honestly say it was way way better than the dreamcast game. the story in the game follows the manga really well too.
Yes! This music is awesome! Exactly like out of the anime. I'm so disappointed that it wasn't released here in the states. I'm sure that this would've had better gameplay than the Dreamcast version. It looks much more like it was out of the anime than the DC version.

i think thats with action replay too. I never placed a mod chip in the PS2 but I know my friend has and he plays this game. If i recall he used Action Replay with the chip in order to play this game; as well as a european version of one of the Resident Evils
