Saturn is awesome but to get you need some patience to find the action replay for a good price. but once you have both its worth it. :)
The Saturn has some awesome games and is more of a hardcore gamer's console.
I used to have one, but sold it. For now, I would rather focus on a single system.
This might be one of the most Chill songs I've ever heard come out of a Video Game. Man, Video Game music was so much more genuine back then.

I still have this game. You can actually listen to the entire soundtrack if you put it in just about any CD player. The soundtrack starts on the second track, though, because the first is reserved for game data.

XD I doubt that its him Richard works at Sega and has been producing loads of tunes for the Sonic series over the years, mostly in Sonic 3D Blast/Sonic R and a couple from the latest games, this one is one of my favourites <33 since its so nostaligiac!

this was the saturn version. The saturn version had different songs and better graphics. Much better music but the load time was the major drawback.

well as a producer all this was synthesised as well as the percussion was a Drum break sampled .....so basically its all a matter of 64 bit vs 16 but quality sounds ;)

@sonicspeed011 Yeah, the Genesis version of the song had more of an arcade-style feel to it. Personally, I like both versions equally, although this one is more serene and could be re-used easily for something like a home video or whatevs :)
I was doing something else and just listening to this music and it started out like a final boss soundtrack in an RPG so when I looked I was surprised to see that it was Sonic, very cool song.
This is indeed the PC version. It's the only one I've played. I still haven't beaten it. Actually, I haven't touched it in years... Something about some carnival level or something...

This is a great, great track, I can't take anything away from it, but I have to give it up more so to the Genesis version of Rusty Ruins Act 2. Saturn Version is just a bit too depressing for my taste.
Sonic music will live on forever in my heart. This is one of my top top favorite VGM tracks since I first heard it back when the game came out. It's gorgeous and dreamy and it really worked well with the rainy levels. It has that breezy cool feel to the melody.

I disagree. While it isn't on par with the 2D Sonic games, I still really enjoy this game. An besides, the Sonic games leaped back up with Sonic Adventure a few years later. Sonic only really started to go downhill with Sonic Heroes, in my opinion.
That wasn't even a complete sentence or even basic grammar. You make no sense, I don't even know who Yuji Naka is but I'm pretty sure he/she would be amazed at Sonic Adventure 1 & 2.

I know, but god i love nostalgia! Other songs do this to me like Sagat's theme (super SFII), Hidden Palace zone, Goro's lair. alot of those games are back in memories, with good times attached.
saturn. Saturn has enhanced graphics, faster play, more interactive backgrounds, and a killer soundtrack. the PC version is a port of the saturn version with a lot missing except music and BG interaction. colors are better on saturn as well.

all Sonic games, regardless of how good they are, have amazing soundtracks, that's something Sega refuses to fail at: music.

There’s quite a few sonic games with bad music
the only ones that have "bad" music are as follows, Boom music was pretty much stock orchestra tracks but they can be enjoyable to some people I personally found them bland. Sonic the Hedgehog Spinball options music is way to loud. sonic eraser soundtrack sucks and sonic chronicles music is horrendous other than the games I listed the rest of the sonic games have decent soundtracks or amazing ones. The number of sonic games with "bad" music is 4 and thats stretching it.

I don't know if you've ever played Sonic the Hedgehog for the 360/PS3 because it has probably the best music out of all the Sonic games, despite it having terrible gameplay and story
NEVER heard this version before and now i know why people are at odds about the two... Now i've gotta listen to this version(I've only heard the genesis version).
Ahh....The originals. So much better than the one they Put in Sonic chronicles. u.u This is one of those songs that makes you stop what you're doing and calmly listen to the beautiful sounds being made. Also, this song has always made me feel....spiritual in a way.
It's a shame the two versions having wildly different soundtracks causes people to choose sides when both are well-crafted. I grew up knowing the Genesis versions but I can appreciate the subtle calmness here. Did the Saturn version have slightly different music between acts too?

The sound on this version is way way way better than the genesis version. I'm very impressed.
It was on Genesis, but the soundtrack, graphics and Special Stages were completely different. However, from what I saw, the level layouts were identical.
