This song is fucking legendary. Not only is it very impressive for a gameboy track, the melody is one of the most beautiful things my ears have ever witnessed (does that even make sense?). What an underrated song... 0:37 is the best part.

Never played this version of DK, just DKC1+2 on snes. The vid on this page came up in a playlist and I recognized this tune as one of my favourite OC remixes. Only just getting to hear the original here now. Nice. Can't post link but try looking for 'Revisiting the Ruins OC Remix'

This game as well as Tiny Toon Adventures on the NES has same similar styled music.
I use to have a really hard time sleeping when I was a teen. I loaded this game up, got to this particular level and slept with it on untiI fell asleep. Very relaxing and deeply brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for this video. Thank you so much.

@SupraDarky. Yes, if you look at games and their soundtrack, the music to water levels are by the best. Aquatic Ambience (DKC 1) , Water World(DKC 3), Dire Dire Docks (SM64). I completely agree with you

@stick666thekiller This tune was actually composed by Graeme Norgate. He and David Wise worked together on the DKL tunes. PS Graeme Norgate also did the music for Blast Corps on N64
This > Aquatic Ambiance. Upon initially playing this game, I didn't think it was the most memorable bgm, but on going back to it I think it is. Big Ape City is really groovy and all, but this has a somber, clear emotional tone that most of the others lack. They're just catchy.

Looks like you've got yourself a lot of DK water levels here now! Lockjaw's Locker *is* DKC2's water theme...but Artic Abyss has the right feel to it.

I had this game
Oh wow, I thought I was the only person who ever had this game. There's another track in this game I love to bits but I don't know its name. It plays on the level where you have to collect the KONG letters multiple times :P
