Same! This was the game that just made me feel like I was on vacation. It's up there with my top happy feel good games.... until the hard parts

Favorite level was the theme park.....and the level (cant remember) it looked like the sun was setting.....man my 1st gamecube game......I fucking miss 2002 T_T

I loved this game! I still have it, but looking back on it I relized just how much FUN games were back then. Except for the watermelon level and the red coin challenge on that island that had the moving boats. I want to play it again, but then again I have played at least 5 times. Good times. Good memories. Memories that I will never get again with the Xbox 360. Thank you nintendo for my child hood.
wasn't a fan of the game......i guess I expected Mario 64 (2)....well please don't rage on me, since giving my opinion. Also I'm not a fan of the Soundtrack. But I'm old-skool Mario RPG Legend of Seven Stars kind of gamer. You know: Zelda LTTP, OOT, CT/CC guy. So this game wasn't really for me

I wasn't aware this game was underrated. It's freaking amazing. It has some of the most smoothest controls i have ever played with, and the level design and aesthetic were amazing. This game rocked.

Oh the crazy shit i used to do in Delfino.... i always remember diving headfirst into the sand and laughing uncontrollably when he got stuck. I LOVED THE MAN WITH THE SHADES AND FLORAL SHIRT

Y'know, overall, this was, for a long time, my favourite Mario game in terms of 'atmosphere'. It was the first Mario main series game that actually had one as far as I was concerned.
i'll keep it simple, i loved this game.
I think every Mario game in the main series are excellent, all of the Kart series too, Party series I think the first 4 are awesome, 5 and 6 are ok but 7 and 8 are kinda bad, 9 seems to be good though. Paper is epic. There are the rpg games too which are great. About the sports spin-offs, I've only played Mario Tennis in the N64 and GC, those are fun games, are the other sports games bad as people say?

Hands down best Mario game ever. I still have the little notebook me and my friend recorded all our stars in when I was like...9. This game is a perfect example of sticky summer GameCube controllers.
@EstronkaS Yeah, but Twilight Princess came out at the very end of the GameCube's lifecycle in 2006, which made it the last game published by Nintendo for it. Twilight Princess holds its place more as a Wii game since they made Link right handed with his sword. To me, Wind Waker is the more definitive Zelda GameCube game. Anyway, after this "vacation", the Wii decided to go back and reference it's predecesors like how TP is like OoT and Throwback Galaxy in SMG2 which really is a tip of the hat.

@electricmastro I think that as well. After 64, Nintendo only got stardom by the time that twilight princess came out for the Wii. Then galaxy 1 and 2 came out along with other big franchises. But don't forget that twilight princess was originally a GameCube game. =D
@EstronkaS To me it seems that the N64 made Mario and Zelda turn to the peak of its popularity, the Gamecube just decided to take both of them on a trip to the islands for a "vacation". The real tip of the hat didn't come until the Wii came along.
@EstronkaS Oh I agree; super mario 64 is very very good; but yes a definite solid 8.5 in my book too.
@piplup10203854 people just expected something better then super mario 64, which to this day is still something verry hard to do. Alot of people say this game sucks, but they probably never even played it. It's not a bad game, from 1 to 10 it's an 8.5 while super mario 64 is somewhat of a 10. it's just not as good as 64. ^^
I do hate how people rag on this game, to me it was great, there are some levels *okay a few* that can get really annoying and are hard as hell but overall every time i play through it I feel like I am getting better, trying more tricks and having more fun. I personally love this game and the music is amazing. In fact i am going to go play it again lol
Both Mario Galaxy's and 64 are infinitely better, but this isn't all that bad.
Mario Sunshine is an abyss bwtwenn MArio 64 and Mario Galaxy. Worst MArio I'hve ever played. Still, it's not bad, it's fun. But it's the worst.
Definitely, underrated such a sweet game. The beach and a strong environmental message are always ingredients for a good time.
Sunshine was THE BEST 3-D Mario game, period. 64 was great and all, but Sunshine had the atmosphere. Who WOULDN'T want to play such a laid back game as Super Mario Sunshine. It takes place on a frickin BEACH. Galaxy can't touch this.
Only idiots who understand nothing think in 'better than', or are stuck in the past or present. If one were to give this game sound judgment, they'd agree it was great. Is it better than 64 or Galaxy? That depends. Do you prefer games that stick to one theme and atmosphere? Do you prefer non-lineair platformers? If so, I bet you'd prefer Sunshine over the other two.

This is an awesome song! This game had great music and awesome gameplay. Getting all shines was a long task especially those that were timed.

I didn't say Mario galaxy wasn't a good game, I just don't think it's the best mario game ever, which is what people think. It can't touch Super Mario 3 or Super Mario world. I would say 64 is better but I'm a huge fan boy of that game because it was the first game I ever played, so it's tough not to be.

No, if anything, I've been blinded by my fond memories of Mario 64. Mario Sunshine was rated as the second hardest Mario game ever, that meaning to get 120 stars on. Yeah anyone can beat the game with the way you fhave to get to the last level, but it's getting 120 that's a real balls to the wall kind of game. Galaxy is easy, i could do it, and I suck at Mario.
I played all of the hard parts from Galaxy. The only one I would say is as challenging as anything from sunshine is, and that's the Dardevil run to the lava spire.
It was creative, I just didn't find it very fun. Or difficult.

This is a really under appreciated game. I think it's better than Galaxy (I'll be happy to accept angry replies, messages, and thumbs down things). Ok here we go, time to receive a record amount of hate mail (yeah more than when I said fred sucks.) Mario Galaxy sucked. It was sunshine with a crappy gravity gimmick, take away the FLUDD, and add a lot more platforms to jump on [WEE!!! (sarcasm)].

Music was a great fit when you were zooming around with the turbo nozzle...though I also remember waiting ages for the boat with Yoshi near the Noki Bay entrance. Annoying stuff, as was the endless blue coin hunt.

If they made an Accordian Hero game, this should be in it. I like that variation of the Mario Bros. theme they use for the obstacle courses. The one with the voices.
