This game has aged fantasticly, and this song is the most well known one, in my opinon.
it could be released today for the first time and I am sure it would become the same all time classic as it has always been. Outstanding game, that's how you make something timeless.

I'd say Woolly World is as close as you're gonna get to this game. The others in the series just don't come close. Of course, that could all change with this new Yoshi game coming to the Switch. Woolly World is definitely worth playing.

Good point, however male Yoshi eggs contain the digested remains and fecal matter from what they eat, and they chuck it at everything. A game where you throw shit at everyone, such paradises exists!

Lol, then learn to not suck at the game and get hit all the time. The game's amazing, as far as I'm concerned. One of the things that stands out the most in my childhood.

This song reminds me of one thing: Kindergarden. I was 5 or 6 when I first played this game at my uncle's house (he was a teenager at the time) and I remember when he beat it, it was so cool. I could say that it was this game that introduced me to the Nintendo universe.

Love this game.
I feel like Yoshi's island gets a bum rap alot of times from people who complain that "its not a Mario game" or "Baby Mario is annoying". This game has an AMAZING soundtrack, particularily the opening cutscene and the end theme, the gameplay is fun, tricky, but fair (except for the special levels) I honestly think its one of the best Mario games out there. Out of all the games I played as a child, NONE of them take me back like this one does, it really brings out the kid in you.

I remember getting this game for my 4th birthday. I love it so freaking much. I finally managed to score 100 on every level (including the extra stages!) just a year or two ago. It's fun and cutesy at times, but damn does it take a lotta skill and/or patience to beat it 100%.

Ahhh, the 90's............... the time when video-games were really addicting [in a good way]............. and the time you didn't worry about [extremely complex] math homework or global warming, or something.
I remember going to an electronics store when I was about 8. I was originally trying to get Killer Instinct, but the guy wouldn't sell it to me. Then I tried to get Beavis and Butthead, but it was sold out. I eventually ended up getting this game, and I enjoyed it ever since. This song always a place within my most pleasant memories. ^_^

What awesome music,very energetic,the music from all other snes games are awesome too,but the music that i felt the most was from yoshis island and final fantasy 3,when i hear this music,it makes me hyperactive,and i just want to do something,when i think of it,it looks like the music fits some scene where someone is exploring

I can say that most of the SNES games has a song quality like PSX games.. a 16 bit video game who plays song like this is icredible see donkey kong one and two.. the song was so god that they even sold the original cartridge with a CD... and its is a SNES...

This is quite easily my favorite 2-d mario game, and one of my favorite games ever, really ,and the music, though, not quite as catchy as other mario tunes, is relatively more complex and has a unique attitude, which just adds to how this game is so special.

Excellent soundtrack! They really didn't need the "Super Mario World 2" in the title. Yoshi's Island by itself was just fine. The pinnacle of 16-bit platforming was reached with this game!
