He does, in Mega Man X5, Zero sacrificed himself to protect Mega Man X (X for short) and defeat sigma. Then X took his saber as a memento. In Mega Man X6, X uses Zero's saber throught the game as a weapon.

@Burkhart von Klitzing I had a lot of fun too, until I decided on doing a Zero run without the black armor. Those damn eye-blobs in Gate's fortress went in dry and I still can't sit properly.
This game is definitely NOT worse than X7. It's bad, but not THAT bad.

@Where's everyone going, bingo? Crazy Bus wasn't even counted as a game , Desert Bus was never released (cuz absolute died) and Big Rigs is so bad , it's good. Depression Quest , on the other hand is actually counted as a game and there's absolutely zero gameplay.
@DoritoFan80 Sounds like a lot of games on Steam. Lots of games on there that are poorly put together, with nothing to do. Well, calling those games is being too generous.

X6 is harder than any of the classic games. most of the Zero games are as well.

I have played I dont know how many megaman battle networks they were my favorite on the gameboy color time to go pop those into my ds and play those 4 or so games most never beat XD maby 5 I have.. and I also have the megaman collection for ps2 and megaman start force 1-3...
Mega Man 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 are real challenges. The X series are very easy.

@Beledal some liked the difficulty. Granted, it was hard because it was designed badly. But the music still makes it, and it looked like it could have been a great game if given time. Too bad capcom rushed the damn thing.

@SupraDarky 4 isn't necessarily bad but essentially compared to the others, the later 3 aren't at the same scale as the first 3. The latter 3 focus on special gimmicks, tournaments for 4, liberation missions for 5, beast mode for 6. I personally wasn't as fond of 6 though due to getting rid of most aspects from the first 5(locations and people I mean, not the gameplay for that it went back to basics). However I still retain none of them were bad. 3 holds a special place in my heart however.
All MegaMan X games were awesome except for 6 and 7, in my opinion. I'd even say the X series is overall better than the regular series, but once again, that's just my opinion, so don't come down trolling on me.

its a diffrent type of design some like it others don't. If you want more games like the x series i recommend either the zero series for gba or zx for ds.

6 was one of the best (in the X series) 5 was more than just easy i beat it my first time in 5 hrs 4 was pretty good ive beat at leAST 6 times
4 is pretty good. 5 might be too easy (except the end stage 1). Skip X7.

Yeah pretty much everyone agree that 4 and 5 were relatively bad games, but that 6 kinda redeemed the series and managed to close it well. They're still worth a shot.
The 4th one had weirder graphics compared to 2 and 3, plus the whole game was just a series of tournaments. You help your opponent with some trouble, then you fight them in a match. It does this over and over till the final boss.
Sweet! I really liked the Battle Network series from what I've played (1 to 3), very addictve. I'll pick up 4 at some point eventhough I've heard it's the worst one?
My first Megaman was Megaman X (I asked my mom to find me Megaman 7, but she found X instead). I was disappointed at first before I played it (I was a clueless little kid), but it was awesome after I tried it. I've played X4 and X7 before, the Battle Network series (2, 3, 4 only) on GBA, and the BN one on Gamecube. I think I've played some of the early ones on the gameboy too.

Too bad the game was pretty crappy >_> There are a good bunch of music from MMX that could be thrown in there. The whole MMX OST, notably Spark Mandrill, Storm Eagle, second Sigma stage and maybe the intro stage. Also X vs Zero from X5, and Dynamo from X5 too. I don't know what are your plans, but this list wouldn't be complete without them :p
