"It took you all this time to upload the series' most popular theme?!" Actually, it was my plan all along to add it for # 2439... Yeah, that's it. I did however upload the Vocal album version back in 2008 (link in the description)! And the Earthbound version with "Home Sweet Home". Pollyanna is a classic amongst classics by Keiichi Suzuki, he really had a gift with composing catchy tunes that had melodies you could easily sing to.
you see, it's symbolic because mother 4 could be soon and 2 + 4 + 3 = 9 so like uhhhh... what were we talking about?

If Mother 2 is Earthbound, and Mother 1 is Earthbound Beginnings, what would Mother 3 be? I’d wager it would be Earthbound Legacy.
it was first meant to be titled Mother 3: End of the Pig King, then Mother 3: Chimera Forest, but turned into Mother 3: Earthbound 2

I feel like the reference to Pollyanna is more well known than the actual novel. Funny how that works!

This might be an unpopular opinion, or what have you, but i'd prefer an Earthbound Begginings remake before getting Mother 3. Most people that have heard about mother 3 have already played it via emulation and i feel it would be a lot better to have a remake of the clunkiest, most unbalanced game in the trilogy. It would also help like, i don't know, raise interest on the third game more?
Mother 1 is apparently one of the better RPGs for the NES, which is a damning indictment. I guess it only has two grindy areas... shame that they’re at the very beginning and the very end.
@David E. The grinding never truly ends tho, and the end part of grinding starts as far back at the swamp near Ellay/Valentine's. Regardless of grinding, more quality of life things like the rolling hp meter, better graphics all aboard and less tedious and samey looking areas would do so much for the game. And a story/character expansion woudn't hurt either.
there's a fan project called MOTHER Encore and it's basically Earthbound Beginnings with enhanced graphics, enhanced sprites, new overworld enemy sprites (no more random encounter), and new battle system. the new battle system is very similar to MOTHER 3 but without the rythm combo.
